@jacob_evenson @jarred_campos @STaranto92 I think it’s not talked about because it’s just standard on all NASCAR series cars. Trucks, Xfinity, Cup all have had them for a very long time. Not new technology. I do wish they would touch on it tho so people don’t freak out when they see it. It’s extremely rare

It didn’t fail lol it did exactly what it was suppose to. All safety items in this crash acted as designed the Hans broke from taking all the force away.

@jarred_campos @STaranto92 All these cars have a collapsing steering column. So the wheel moves away from the driver on heavy impacts like this. Did exactly what it was designed to do. Don’t get to see it much anymore so glad to see it still works as designed.
