@MARVELSNAP Collector nerf doesn’t make sense. Before Loki it was a bad card that worked ok in some decks. Now it’s a terrible card that is still amazing in Loki decks. RIP bounce.
Why not just make Loki replace 3 random cards instead of the entire hand. Still fun but less abusable.
@BrokenContract Tl;dr - this isn’t how I like to play D&D so it’s bad.
Alternate take: IF WotC closes the D&D ecosystem (and I doubt they will), then many will rebel and go to those other RPGs. Apple vs Android all over again. Yes you’ll have loyalist, but an external ecosystem will rise up.
I just did a play through of Marvel United where Doc Ock takes on Spiderman, Dr Strange and Howard the Duck. Came down to the wire...

@BroBoardgame Making a ruling because you can’t find the rule at the time, isn’t really a house rule. Making a choice to play a game differently so it’s more fun for your group is a house rule. And there’s nothing “wrong” with making things more fun for you and yours.
@MarkusButticus There is no such thing as polite considered negative criticism on the internet 🙃 But I’m always happy to discuss negative opinions in person.
@MarkusButticus@TriciaSydney Sure but how does “the decisions weren’t interesting to me” help you? You’re not me. The decisions may be interesting for you. But now all you can remember is how someone said the decisions weren’t interesting. Negativity bias is a very real thing. 1 neg comment > 100 pos ones.
@MarkusButticus@TriciaSydney Yeah, “I don’t like Terraforming Mars because I feel it’s a boring cube pusher with haphazard art choice and terrible graphic design. But you may like it.” - negative review for you. Never said TM was bad, just a game I hate...
(Ie. Negativity is not valuable in most cases.)
@MarkusButticus It’s also a ton of work to play a game you don’t like, script it, film it, edit it, and take blowback for it-all to say something bad about a game. We shouldn’t be asking our reviews to actively do harm to themselves and others just so someone else can hear a negative viewpoint.
@MarkusButticus Negative reviews have very little value over the harm they can do to a game that others may like. I don’t like Terraforming Mars, that has no bearing on how good the game is to others. Reviews should help you find the games you’ll like, not the ones you won’t.
@Of_Dice_and_Men No character creation. Mini’s with pre-made character sheets. But have them pick via the mini. And the characters have abilities the minis look to have. With a bday party, you can be sure it’ll be the first D&D experience for some, and it’s easier to jump in visually.
@Of_Dice_and_Men I had a ton of fun with it. The key was to keep it short (under 2hrs) - so they have plenty of tune to talk about the cool adventure afterword. And do other birthday things.
@mrmatthew@cgsunit We’ve gotten rid of winner prizes at my local store for weekly play. Instead we random draw from everyone that played all three (or four) rounds. It lets people play the decks they want with out having to feel hyper competitive. Much better for the local scene.
