@SouthAsiaIndex Petroleum prices and inflation are related to oil prices and global tensions. I do not think any protest regarding that can do any better. Youth should instead find other ways to help the nation instead of protesting.

وزیرِ اعظم محمد شہباز شریف کا پاکستان کی ثالثی کی بدولت خطے و عالمی امن کے قیام کے بعد تیل کی قیمتوں کے حوالے سے اہم بیان

وزیرِ اعظم نے کہا کہ خطے میں معاشی صورتحال میں بہتری آنے اور تیل کی قیمتوں میں کمی کا فائدہ فوری طور پر عوام کی جانب منتقل کررہے ہیں۔ جو وعدہ قوم سے کیا تھا، الحمدللہ وہ پورا کرنے جا رہے ہیں۔

وزیرِ اعظم نے کہا کہ پیٹرول کی قیمت میں 74 روپے اور ڈیزل کی قیمت میں 67 روپے کمی کی جارہی ہے۔اس طرح پٹرول کی فی لیٹر قیمت 373 روپے سے کم ہو کر 299 روپے پر آ جائے گی اور ڈیزل کی فی لیٹر قیمت 378 روپے سے کم ہو کر 311 روپے پر آ جائے گی۔

وزیرِ اعظم نے کہا کہ عوام کی مشکلات کا بخوبی اندازہ ہے، آپ نے مشکل صورتحال صبر و تحمل کا بے مثال مظاہرہ کیا۔ ان مشکل حالات میں حکومت کا ساتھ دینے پر ہم عوام کے تہہ دل سے مشکور ہیں۔ اس بحران کے آغاز سے ہی ہم نے اپنے وسائل سے تیل کی قیمتوں میں جس قدر ہو سکا کمی لانے کی کوشش کی۔ وفاقی حکومت نے ترقیاتی بجٹ سے اور کفایت شعاری سے کی گئی بچت کے ذریعے 129 ارب استعمال کرکے، ملک بھر کے عوام کو تیل کی قیمتوں میں بے پناہ اضافے سے ممکنہ حد تک ریلیف فراہم کیا۔

وزیرِ اعظم نے مزید کہا کہ خطے کی معاشی صورتحال کے دوران جب کچھ ممالک میں فیول راشننگ جیسے اقدامات لیے جا رہے تھے، حکومت پاکستان کی بہتر منصوبہ کی بدولت توانائی کا بحران نہیں آیا۔ موثر اقدامات کی بدولت ، نہ کوئی لائن لگی، نہ لمبی قطاریں لگیں، اور نہ ہی عوام کو کسی قسم کی پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی کمی کا سامنا کرنا پڑا۔ ملکی معیشت کو مستحکم رکھنے کے لیے وفاق اور صوبوں نے مکمل تعاون کیا جس کے لیے میں صوبائی وزرائے اعلی کا شکر گزار ہوں۔ جس قدر ممکن ہوا عوام کو عالمی مہنگائی کی لہر سے محفوظ رکھنے کیلئے اقدامات اٹھائے۔

وزیرِ اعظم نے کہا کہ عالمی منڈی میں تیل کی قیمتوں میں جو کمی آئے گی وہ من و عن عوام کو منتقل کررہے ہیں۔معاشی استحکام برقرار رکھنے اور مہنگائی میں مزید کمی کے لیے مؤثر اقدامات جاری رکھیں گے۔ بحران کے پورے عرصے میں نہ صرف حکومتی سطح پر کفایت شعاری کو اپنایا گیا بلکہ ریلیف کی مد میں محروم طبقات کو سبسڈی بھی فراہم کی گئی۔

وزیرِ اعظم نے کہا کہ عوام کو زیادہ سے زیادہ ریلیف فراہم کرنا حکومت کی اولین ترجیح ہے. اللہ کے فضل سے مشرق وسطیٰ کی کشیدہ صورتحال میں پاکستان کی ثالثی کی بدولت امن ممکن ہوا۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے پاکستان کو عزت بخشی اور اسلام آباد مفاہمتی یادداشت پر دستخط ہوئے، جو ایک تاریخی دستاویز ہے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ عزت و اکرام اپنی کمال مہربانی سے تمام پاکستانیوں کو عطا فرمایا۔

وزیرِ اعظم نے کہا کہ فیلڈ مارشل سید عاصم منیر خصوصی مبارک باد کے مستحق ہیں جن کی انتھک محنت اور پیشہ ورانہ صلاحیت کی بدولت یہ امن معاہدہ ممکن ہوا۔ نائب وزیرِ اعظم و وزیر خارجہ سینیٹر اسحاق ڈار، وزیر داخلہ سید محسن رضا نقوی اور حکومت پاکستان کی پوری ٹیم جو امن کی ان کوششوں میں خلوص نیت کے ساتھ سرگرم عمل رہی، کو بھی خراج تحسین پیش کرتا ہوں. اس کے علاوہ معاشی ٹیم، جن میں وزیرِ خزانہ محمد اورنگزیب، وزیر منصوبہ بندی احسن اقبال، وزیرِ اقتصادی امور احد خان چیمہ، وزیرِ پیٹرولیم علی پرویز ملک، سیکریٹری خزانہ، سیکریٹری پیٹرولیم اور چیئرمین ایف بی آر شامل ہیں، نے معاشی بحران میں قابل قدر کوششیں کیں، جو قابل ستائش ہیں.

I am honoured to announce that the historic ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ has been electronically signed today between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Memorandum has been signed by honourable Presidents of both the countries and also endorsed by me as the mediator. The signing of this agreement at the highest level of the respective governments demonstrates the commitment of both sides to a diplomatic resolution of the conflict. Islamabad MoU shall enter into force with immediate effect and as a first step, Islamic Republic of Iran will instantly reopen the Strait of Hormuz and the United States of America will immediately lift the naval blockade.

I offer my heartfelt congratulations and sincere appreciation to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump whose steadfast commitment to diplomacy and preference for peaceful resolution have once again helped end a conflict that could have led to devastating consequences for the region and beyond. I also commend the dedication and tireless efforts of the United States negotiating team, including J.D. Vance, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, for their invaluable contributions to this achievement.

I express my profound respect and appreciation to His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran and President Masoud Pezeshkian for their wisdom, foresight and statesmanship in embracing the cause of peace. I also wish to recognize the efforts of the Iranian negotiating team, including Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Abbas Araghchi and Eskandar Momeni, whose patience, perseverance and commitment to constructive engagement were instrumental in bringing this agreement to fruition.

I would especially like to acknowledge the sincere efforts and constructive engagement of the leadership of the State of Qatar in helping reach this point. I also highly commend the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Türkiye and the Arab Republic of Egypt for their indispensable role and invaluable contributions in this regard.

I would also like to make special mention of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, whose tireless efforts, selfless dedication and instrumental role were critical in facilitating this breakthrough and advancing the cause of peace and regional stability.

May this Memorandum of Understanding serve as an enduring foundation for greater understanding, mutual respect and shared prosperity for the complete region.

Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.

The official signing ceremony will be on Friday, 19 June in Switzerland.

We would like to thank the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in this mediation effort, the great leadership of State of Qatar, for their support in reaching this agreement. I would also especially thank the visionary leadership of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Republic of Türkiye for their immense contributions in this regard.

With the agreement now in place, mediators will facilitate a series of meetings this week. These pre-implementation discussions will lay the foundation for the technical talks and the official signing ceremony.

28 May 1998 was a defining moment in our national history - a day when Pakistan demonstrated to the world that it would never compromise on its sovereignty, security, dignity, or right to self-defence.

As we commemorate Youm-e-Takbeer today, we pay glowing tribute to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who laid the foundation of Pakistan’s nuclear programme, and to Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, whose bold, courageous, and resolute leadership in May 1998 transformed that vision into reality despite immense international pressure.

We also honour Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, Dr. Samar Mubarakmand and the countless brilliant scientists, engineers, valiant armed forces personnel, and all those associated with the nuclear programme, whose dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment made Pakistan’s defence invincible.

Youm-e-Takbeer remains a symbol of national unity, unwavering resolve, and the collective strength of all elements of national power in safeguarding Pakistan’s independence while ensuring peace and strategic stability in the region.

On this historic day, let us renew our pledge to build a strong, prosperous, united, and self-reliant Pakistan founded on faith, unity, and discipline.

On my personal behalf and on behalf of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, I sincerely thank President Trump for graciously accepting our request to extend the ceasefire to allow ongoing diplomatic efforts to take their course.

With the trust and confidence reposed in, Pakistan shall continue its earnest efforts for negotiated settlement of conflict.

I sincerely hope that both sides will continue to observe the ceasefire and be able to conclude a comprehensive ‘Peace Deal’ during the second round of talks scheduled at Islamabad for a permanent end to the conflict.
