@IndicNomad2024 The bits UPSC likes to twist:
Sawai Jai Singh II built five, in Delhi, Jaipur, Ujjain, Varanasi and Mathura. Mathura's is gone.
Only Jaipur's is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (2010). Its Samrat Yantra is the world's largest stone sundial.

A Prelims detail to add: the 7 engines came in Budget 2022-23. Roads, railways, airports, ports, mass transport, waterways, logistics infra.
The GIS platform is built by BISAG-N, Gandhinagar.
For Mains, pair it with the National Logistics Policy, 2022.

Good pick, since it hits GS3 and GS2 together.
One process line worth writing: the state declares drought under the Drought Manual, sends a memorandum, a central team visits, then a high-level committee under the Home Minister clears NDRF aid.

Bara Shigri feeds the Chandra, which joins the Bhaga to form the Chenab. That's the pair people miss.

A big psyop on Indians is going on to destroy India's relationship with friendly and partner countries. Understand it, don't fall for it.
My view is that the same DS ecosystem that is seeding hate against India and Indians in the US, and instigating the racists there, is also the one now creating a narrative that Russian bot farms are the ones doing the hate against India online.
The idea is to make Indians hate every country they are a partner with. Create people to people issues between India and partner countries. Weaken relationships. Ruin Indian opportunities in those countries. Now, they have roped in very influential agents, controlled using their business interests, for the same purpose.
Understand the playbook.
Most Russians are very friendly towards India. Much more than Americans or Europeans. The comments and hate you may see from so-called Russians online do not represent Russia, and many of them are fake Russian named accounts. The operation now is to drive a wedge between Russia and India.
The same goes for the US too. I know Americans well. Many MAGA voters are my friends. The hate and racism we see in the US recently was seeded, fanned, and racists among Americans were instigated to go specifically after Indians by this DS network.
The anti-India hate operation run on US social media is to create animosity between peoples of the two democracies, influence govt policies, and our strategic hit partnerships.
The same operation is being carried out in partner countries like the UAE, France, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, you name it.
The racism and hate against India is seeded first on their social media, the few racists among them are instigated, then the hate is made organic in their social discourse to specifically target India and Indians. This is to generate organic animosity and destroy opportunities for India and Indians by shaping govt policies.
Whichever country India has a good relationship with, they are doing the same operation in those countries.
So do not fall for this nonsense propaganda you will see seeded in a big way that 'Russia was running bot farms against India and Indians.' It is all being done by the same deep state network ruining India's relationships with partner countries.
I urge @MEAIndia@MOS_MEA@DrSJaishankar to please make this a point of discussion with partner countries, be it Russia or Japan or Singapore. Or wherever this anti-India hate operation is being carried out via social media to hurt India's interests. Urge them to take steps to control it so people to people ties are not affected.
@NewsArenaIndia Handy line for GS2 answers on soft power.

@AnitaAnandMP lands in India this week for talks with @DrSJaishankar.
Trade. Energy. Security and defence. People-to-people ties.
Canada's own release puts two-way trade at $30.4 billion in 2025. Ottawa wants more than $70 billion by 2030. Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu brought nearly 300 business delegates. Largest Canada trade mission to India in over 30 years.
Fifth CEPA round just ran in Ottawa. Energy, critical minerals and aerospace are the live files. @PiyushGoyal already sat with Sidhu on the G20 sidelines.
For Delhi the read is simple. Diversify partners while Gulf energy stays noisy. Lock minerals and aerospace supply without waiting on one Western capital.
My bet: no full CEPA signature by Diwali. By end-2026 both sides still push a closed chapter list or a firm framework date. Watch the critical minerals and aerospace annexes. That is the real deliverable, not the panel photos.

France. CNES is France's space agency.

Answer is B, adult literacy.

IMF's October World Economic Outlook is out. India is at 7.0% for 2026.
Well ahead of the big names:
China 4.5%
US 2.3%
Germany and UK 1.3%
Japan 0.7%
The catch is in the same report.
Global inflation is seen at 4.7%, pushed mainly by energy and food prices.
That's India's soft spot.
We import most of our crude oil.
A costly oil year squeezes the rupee and @RBI's room to cut rates.
So 7% is real strength. But it leans on calmer shipping through Hormuz.
My bet: India stays the fastest-growing major economy in the April 2027 update too, with a small trim if oil stays high.
For UPSC:
The WEO (World Economic Outlook) comes out twice a year, April and October.
The IMF counts India on a fiscal-year basis, not calendar year.

Pakistan has put Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under emergency rule.
Islamabad says militant violence forced it.
PTI, Imran Khan's party, ran the province. It calls this a political takeover.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi now takes charge.
Why India should watch:
1. Power in Pakistan keeps sliding toward the Army under Field Marshal Asim Munir.
2. KP borders Afghanistan. Direct rule from Islamabad can mean a harder push on the TTP, the Pakistani Taliban, and more Pak–Afghan friction.
3. When the Army is busy at home, Delhi still keeps its guard up on the LoC.
My bet: this emergency lasts months, not weeks.
Delhi's best move: stay calm, watch closely, say little.

Emergency in Pakistan: Asim Munir takes control of Imran Khan's last bastion on pretext of terrorism
Pakistan has imposed emergency rule in Imran Khan’s stronghold of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, sidelining the PTI government. Islamabad cites rising militant violence and a security crisis, but PTI calls it a political takeover. The move follows protests demanding Khan’s release and medical access. With Governor Faisal Karim Kundi taking charge, questions are mounting over the Army’s expanding role and Field Marshal Asim Munir’s strategy in the province. Is this about tackling terrorism—or reshaping political power in Pakistan?
