By the way, I'll be posting product updates and general news stuff here, but if you want more actual me, I'm more active on bsky @ https://t.co/RAXeUo1pkN
I'm here because people get news here, but I don't contribute to Elon's net worth any more than I have to.
One of my first lighting/vfx projects for VRChat, made entirely without AI :)
Shoutout @MageStreams and @TapVRC for the world and screen modeling, also all self-taught and done by hand
@DyLhun Isn't this part of TMP already? Ya can paste all the text you want into an input and it'll grab unique characters and customize the font asset to only have those chars. I use that trick all the time.
It's kind of crazy how *simple* the private FaceKit API is. It's just a pure C API that uses NSDictionary for arguments and configuration. Three functions (init, get semantics, and process).
You give it a CVImageBuffer and face rects and it gives you all the tracking data.
@kemmimilk Thank you!
As a side, I love the way the adaptive audio was implemented in the world. It's now my new home world - I've been looking for something that hits the right vibe for a while, and that world finally does, it's very well done <3
@thehorizon2b2t@TamamoF0X This is an intentional security feature, and is also a thing in other security focused products like Yubikeys.
If they could legally put a small explosive charge in them I assure you they would.
@thehorizon2b2t@TamamoF0X By design, it's meant to be impossible, or at least prohibitively expensive to pull off.
NitroKeys use a hardware security module that is meant to be resistant to things like power glitching, decapping, etc - if tampered with they are expected to destroy their contents.
@MostAbsurde@FluxposeVR@xiaomi_note_9 Technically, there is a base station - the waist worn beacon sends out EMF pulses in a similar way that the lighthouses do with lasers. Then ya stick one on your HMD, and that acts similar to space calibrator. It's basically short range EMF based lighthouse tracking.
Today I release new GPU Particle Volumes system and the GPU Snow Particle shaders for it! This snow shader can render hundreds of thousands of particles at the same time even on a weak GPU. It also supports VRC Light Volumes. Get it on my Booth or Patreon! https://t.co/506wIQ5QFv
(translation : a world that hacks the VRC camera and talks to you through the camera [...])
That's a use-case I never thought about : Since we can now access the camera's position through VRCCameraSettings.PhotoCamera.Position, we can attach an audio source on the camera!
@DyLhun@origalili13 It's missing something though. A bullet hole through whatever chip is driving that thing's brain, lest it become sentient.
Imagine how much power a sentient washing machine would have, they tear themselves apart over a brick alone. Terrifying.
Too many projects. Slowly getting through em but man, I wish I was busy with smaller interesting things instead of slow moving big things right now.
Big things are always coming. I just wish they were a little less big sometimes lmao
It seems Gumroad has suspended sale of the Collar & Leash system. I will be investigating, and if I cannot get it restored, I will announce where it will be sold instead and will send out codes to those who have already bought it to grab it again.
The wider project failed, but it was still an interesting one - I implemented the QOA audio codec in #vrchat#udon!
