I will have more to say, but for now this is my prevailing thought:
For years, the Guardians have been carried by Jose Ramirez. He has been asked to do everything. To carry terrible rosters to the playoffs and then carry them even further.
It's poetic that in an injury-riddled down year, his teammates picked him up and got Cleveland to the playoffs while he struggled.
And with their backs against the wall, he returned the favor in three straight elimination games, capped off by his home run being the only score in a historic Game 5 victory.
An all-time moment for our GOAT.
José Ramírez is one of the best players of his generation. Not a lot of guys who can take a 100-mph top-rail fastball out of the yard. Guardians are ahead in a must-win game, 3-2.
Cutting parking fines as an anti-inflation policy is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard but it's in keeping with the Council left bloc's relentless prioritization of the interests of people who break rules over the interests of people who follow them.
DC is entering a really bad cycle where regulations and a lack of law enforcement are killing nightlife and commercial corridors, and the city is responding by trying to throw some token subsidy money at the problem
Do we really have to do this for everything the government does? Our taxes are progressive. We subsidize transit. We subsidize micromobility. We subsidize ebikes. The city does not owe anyone an illegal parking space
Hit the Georgia Ave @wmata stop for first time in a while. It’s too bad that despite all the system improvements over the last few years, @wmataGM and team can’t figure out how to stop the group of regulars from pissing all over the ground and dealing drugs at the entrance.
One interesting thing about DC is they still have scooters everywhere, which went away in other cities after the pandemic.
But they are a menace on sidewalks! Give them 15 mph on streets and eliminate next to pedestrians
