@morellifit Only commented because you said it was a bit disappointing which made me think you weren’t aware of that—should’ve read further where you addressed this. Were you disappointed that it wasn’t higher?
@minordissent@MostlyMonkey An interesting case study could be those who are high Dunning-Kruger who think they should be making more. High persistence plus being too stupid to know better might not be a bad recipe.
@robinhoodlego@gjgraf91@BioLayne Fine, those things can be true and also irrelevant. How do those criticisms provide utility? Must those be strictly adhered to in every context? You didn’t leave it at that—you offered a test that would impress you that illustrated your 18 months of experience.
@robinhoodlego@gjgraf91@BioLayne Assuming your area of expertise is in something other than fitness/nutrition, imagine if I started speaking authoritatively about your adroitness in that field with only 18 months of my own experience. How would you receive my feedback?
@LongBaIILarry@DuckeduponQck@GolfByFairy The alternative interpretation is “never bogey” has to include any type of bogey. Without further explanation, that has to be a valid interpretation.
@NJMomforinpers1@hugo_peck@C_Hendrick Indeed, indicators are almost exclusively centered on critical thinking and engagement. Monitoring the effect of instruction through formative assessments is equally emphasized.
@ChrisExpTheNews@tracewoodgrains@Ed_Realist It’s simple except when it’s not & it’s somehow weirdly taxing—physically and mentally. Your brain must hold a lot of readily available information. It requires minimal IQ, but IQ helps immensely. There really are some fantastic teachers out here but a lot of shitty ones too.
People who aren’t teachers are once again pontificating about how to improve educational outcomes by making vague generalized assessments like “work harder” and I’m enjoying the program.
@katluffyace@hilarym99 Through formative assessment—homework, if assigned, is practice. Averaging all of the assignments to land on a grade, which isn’t necessarily representative of what students know, doesn’t make sense. What’s more important—what they know at the beginning or the end?
