Why are we talking about this like it isn’t the coolest shit? I’d be at the gym tomorrow if I could prance like I’m on moon. My health would go from “frozen meatball” to “living past 50” if I could Peter Pan my ass to wellness. Strap me into the Super Mario jump machine.
Benevolent sexism and hostile sexism aren’t always opposites. Often times, they’re complementary
A man who always opens doors for women and says things like “you’re too beautiful to be worried about money” is likely to also think women are “too emotional” for leadership
Such a person may feel hostility toward women in power while simultaneously holding a chivalrous, protective attitude toward stay-at-home mothers
Benevolent sexism often reflects subjectively positive, yet restrictive, attitudes that reward women for conforming to traditional roles (e.g., believing women are pure, delicate, and need protection by men). Once a woman steps out of such roles, she may get treated with contempt by same chivalrous men
This sort of stick-and-carrot pattern is a very interesting irony I’ve noticed
I’m so glad to see people finally waking up to this.
Submission is a masculine trait & when men are telling women to be submissive, they’re telling women to be masculine.
Women are not inferior men. We are a completely different sex.
The feminine is about egalitarianism harmony, and cooperation, not hierarchy!
People obsess a lot over proximity to wealth. This could be via association, marriage or friendship. They will hear of it but they won’t touch it. Rather be obsessed about the things that are within your control. That little seed in your hands be diligent with it and grow it out. You can also observe those you’re in proximity to and learn from them. Pay more attention to the things within your control.
Very good, and that’s why men on here are always frothing over the mouth about food because it’s not just about women cooking, it’s the whole hierarchy that is established when they get served before the kids on daddy “special plate”. Food distribution is political and hierarchical.
Nigerian parents will:
• Refuse to discuss finances with you
• Never teach you about investments
• Hide their own money struggles
• Expect you to figure it out
Then when you’re 35 and broke, they’ll say, “What did we teach you?”
My brother, you taught us nothing. We’re learning from YouTube and making mistakes in real time.
I once had a male patient covered in prescribed fentanyl patches. When I asked why, he said he’d bent his wrist while shovelling snow.
Meanwhile, I met a female patient who had been struggling with hip pain for 15 years after childbirth and she was repeatedly told to just take Tylenol.
I have noticed something from all the videos I have seen of this guy’s visit to naija.. the ladies have been very graceful and calm.. the men on the other hand 🥴
We have a MALE BEGGING problem.
E don reach men turn, e don turn ‘we’.
Women weren’t making a fool of themselves and doing begging gymnastics with ENTITLEMENT AND AUDACITY on that stream, they were all MALES!
You already do date your homies lmao you’re especially nice and understanding to them and show up for them and hang out with them all the time u just want women to perform the emotional labor of teaching you how to love and making you feel chosen because your mommy or daddy hurt your feelings growing up. You’re emotionally invested in Julian you’re just sexually disappointing Jillian so which one are u actually dating
This whole conversation just reminded me of something.
Someone tweeted that the reviews on TemuNG aren’t detailed enough, and it made sense immediately. I rely heavily on detailed reviews on TemuUK and SheinUK before I buy anything. I read everything. Long reviews, pictures, specific complaints. And most times, I get exactly what I expected.
But ask me when I’ve ever gone back to drop that same level of detailed criticism, especially when it’s negative.
Because once it’s not positive, it starts to feel like you’re doing too much. Like you’re tearing down someone’s business. Like you’re being wicked instead of helpful. So we keep quiet, or we say “it’s okay” and move on.
Which is funny, because this is exactly why people get defensive when criticism comes their way. We’ve decided that any negative feedback must be an attack, not information.
So when people point out gaps, it’s suddenly a problem. Not because the feedback is invalid, but because we don’t know how to receive it without taking it personally.
As Jola once said, usually men are the developers. They feed their design ego and forget the practicality of it. Or they design this huge mansion with a tiny kitchen all because it's the kitchen they would be okay with: "Is it not just to cook food...?"
I also find that sometimes people want that aesthetic too, but the key is to have a separate kitchen that does the real work while the other is for vibes, making toast, and plating up food.
