@internetalena “All I want for Christmas is you” is somehow very watchable for adults and extremely enjoyable to the little ones. The antagonist (if there is one?) is an adorably untrained mutt and tween Mariah’s Carey’s internal struggle to accept imperfection. Five stars.
@taffyakner Can’t exactly recommend “Empire of Light” but if you aspire to be a Colman completist, may as well watch it in a big, gorgeous old theater!
@hubermanlab 3) Do not have a job while you have small children, since (1) is nearly impossible for you to control and (2) most of your job likely requires you to communicate to other humans while sleep deprived
@HillaryKelly Hope you feel better soon 🙏 wow, what a great list. You don’t need more recs, but “dark earth” by Rebecca stott is absorbing and centers women in an era in totally new way (a la Madeline Miller’s “circe” )
@amykaycannon We listen to a lot of audiobooks on Libby, a library app. Also recommend Elizabeth Mitchell and Dan Zane’s for 🎶 that’s pleasurable for both adults and kids. Circle round and but why are fave pods
@ClimateHuman Was collecting cucumbers from our little garden the other day and just had a moment of immense gratitude…for the earth’s magnetic field. Just one of innumerable things that had to go exactly right to create the conditions for all of life to emerge, and for this little cucumber.
@leeloowrites @AfroChicVa @reg_inee Seems like a lot of folks might not, but when you come across the ones who really want to know, who ask big questions and leave all the room for your answers…dive in. Being truly listened to is indistinguishable from the feeling of being loved.
