@SamQuinnCBS Thanks for the replies, trying to gauge how possible this is from a wolves fan perspective.
Your insight is very helpful. Feel like this is sort of buying high on Ball. Maybe Hornets feel like now is the time to move him, after a rare healthy season.
@SamQuinnCBS If the Wolves expanded the Randle deal would ...
Divo (bird rights), Shannon Jr and the 2033 pick be enough to intrigue Charlotte?
Maybe Charlotte would like the cap savings? Guess they could use that to resign Coby White?
@ksteinberg29@wolvesdefender1@YossiGozlan I'm guessing we'd be hoping the Hornets are interested in getting off alot of Balls contract?
Is Donte, TJ Shannon and our one tradable first even close?
Then they can go resign Coby White with that extra cash?
@SteveQuam@Phantele_ Yea from all reporting it sounds like Knicks wanted to send Mitchell Robinson instead of Donte so Wolves said no deal.
Then a couple months later Knicks gave in and included Donte and the 1st.
Smart to wait and get a better deal.
@bannedbreehwa Where did the front office say this? I saw the athletic article that said Jaden and Joan but that isn't exactly the Front office saying it. Just "sources".
But where's the Donte stuff, hadn't seen that?
@adukeMN Gotcha. So this is literally all of them? Just 3 cases of All Star Guards who tore their ACL at 32 or older
I guess I would argue that sample size is far too small to draw any conclusions from it. Especially when one is 1993 and pretty sure Chauncy was an Achilles tear.
@MavsTPSReport Wolves don't need to move off of Donte to resign Ayo contrary to what Evan claims. Have bird rights and space under the 2nd apron
If they move off Donte it will be in a larger deal not a salary dump that costs them a pick.
@ButtaSports@whatsontapnba Worrying about this is like when people complain about the lack of moves at the deadline before it's even over.
The plan is to resign or use Ayo as an asset. If we fail to do that then absolutely complain. If we do resign him it was a smart risk and a great trade
@ButtaSports@whatsontapnba UFA in the NBA is kind of dead compared to other leagues
It's not like there's 20+ teams that can just pay him whatever. Probably less than 5
You acquire him to retain his bird rights and resign him
If he walks it was a mistake. But I bet he stays and it's a home run trade
@WillRagatz Man I would almost tell my guys to stick to pull up mid range jumpers, 3s and post up fadaways.
I know those aren't usually the most effective offense but attacking Wemby at the rim seems futile and seems to fuel the crowd when it gets stuffed.
