“Every category of knowledge work is being reimagined now that there’s a fundamentally new way to work with the web’s information.”
From drug discovery and insurance claims to people search and capital markets, Parallel’s APIs are working at massive scale to power a wide range of use cases across startups and Fortune 500 companies, less than a year from launch.
- @p0 co-founder @travers00
Following rapid growth, a $100M Series B, and a slate of new launches, I sat down with Parallel co-founder @travers00.
@p0 is building core search infrastructure for the agentic web: systems that enable AI to retrieve, structure, and reason over information across the internet with speed, accuracy, and reliability.
I joined Travers at Parallel’s new Palo Alto office for a wide-ranging conversation on:
> The pace going from launch last August to becoming critical infrastructure powering production workflows at companies like Notion, Harvey, Granola, and more.
> Why Parallel sees the future of search as far beyond “ten blue links,” toward systems built for retrieval, reasoning, monitoring, and computation.
> The changing nature of the web itself: its economics, openness, and what happens as agents become primary users.
> The artistry and legacy of internet history shaping the company: Olivetti typewriters, Douglas Hofstadler, Lloyd Shapley, Christo & Jeanne-Claude, Google’s Search Box, and how it inspired programs like the Museum of the Human Web.
This is an extensive and wide ranging look into one of the most interesting sectors of the agentic web. We @terraincap feel lucky to have worked with Travers and the team since the start just two years ago. So much to do.

"There’s a real historical lineage from the early open internet to where we are now... none of AI would exist without the [open web]."
Parallel’s culture is shaped by the history of the web: its ideals, aesthetics, openness, and human imperfections.
@travers00 and the @p0 team follow that history closely: both to learn from it, and to help create what’s on the horizon.
a few months ago we had a whacky idea: what if we built a physical museum of the human web?
the internet was a place many of us lived. i grew up pouring hours into every weird niche and the wayback machine
the web has a new user now. we wanted to celebrate the weird, whacky, and magical parts that got us here

.@travers00 and @p0 believe the web requires new economic models.
That’s the thinking behind Index, Parallel’s newly launched marketplace designed to compensate publishers and creators when agents access their content.
They are already working with publishers including The Atlantic and Fortune, alongside independent creators, to develop new economic models that keep the web’s knowledge open and accessible in the age of AI.
“We will help you reach millions of agents…. and be paid fairly for it.”

Extremely excited to share this one.
We recently signed a 40 MW deal with @austinenergy to deploy our distributed storage technology here in Austin.
More to come in the coming weeks on our offering for homeowners in Austin.
Very proud to partner with our hometown utility.
The museum opens in SF later this week. RSVP below.
It was special to work on this with the @p0 team - it shows an optimism for the web as humans built it: creative, open, and imperfect.
News: Parallel Web Systems has raised a $100M Series B.
Just as the early web crackled to life on terminals a generation ago, the parallel web is coming online today.
We are proud to deepen our partnership with @p0 in this round.
Soon, more AIs will use the web than humans.
That was the idea @paraga and @travers00 shared with us @terraincap in early 2024.
Today it's becoming reality, powered by @p0 and the companies building on it. It's been an honor for us to work with the team from the start.
