BOWL PAC is the political arm of Better Organizing to Win Legalization, working for marijuana legalization and justice for those harmed under criminalization.
Pete Sessions is possibly the most pro-criminalization member of the House of Representatives.
Perhaps he can take the L, retire from Congress, and get the treatment he needs for all the hatred in his heart.
Fo(u)r twenty days, the House has been without a Speaker.
Will the new Speaker be a prohibitionist like Jim Jordan - or a Republican who is willing to engage and respect state-legal programs?
Perhaps we'll find out this week.
“This highlights the growing fracture within the Republican caucus,” @justinstrekal said, “on those who want to double down on criminalization versus those who want to accept the legitimacy of states legalizing marijuana.”

We had a great time catching up and strategizing with @justinstrekal over brunch today! Justin is the former Political Director of NORML (the nat’l org), and he continues to lead the reform movement via @TheBOWLPAC, which he founded. Thx Justin 🙏🏼
The MORE Act to legalize marijuana has passed the House of Representatives 2 times in the last 3 years.
Jim Jordan has lost in the House of Representatives 3 times in the last 2 weeks.
There is a beautiful symmetry in the math, considering he supports marijuana prohibition.
The Marijuana Opportunity, Reinvestment, and Expungement (MORE) Act to legalize marijuana and expunge prior records got more votes (twice!) than Jim Jordan did.
Also, Jim Jordan voted to maintain prohibition and criminalization both times.
On the anniversary of President Biden's pardon for certain cannabis possession charges, we're thrilled to share that BOWL PAC has gathered over 110,000 signatures from our members urging further action. Help us reach even more voters. Will you support our cause? https://t.co/AwcrUmgque
Rescheduling cannabis is just rebranding continued harm. We need FULL cannabis decriminalization now. Stand with BOWL PAC and our allies. #DescheduleNotReschedule 📣 https://t.co/Kq73ekrqBg

With todays committee passage of the SAFE Banking Act, and thanks to the leadership of Senators Schumer and Booker who have fought tenaciously to ensure that the HOPE Act will receive a vote as an amendment when bill gets to the floor, we have a real opportunity to thoughtfully advance both modest industry and criminal legal reforms in a meaningful way, setting the precedent that we all do better when we all do better.

This small step has been a long time coming and I appreciate all the hard work of @RepRaskin, @RepNancyMace, and @repblumenauer and their teams.
Still a legislatively long way to go for a small step, but a very good step to take nonetheless.

We have never had a markup announced on SAFE in the Senate before!
...but we haven't had the vote yet! Keep up the pressure and join the thousands who have sent messages to their Senators now: https://t.co/HH8ocJzk9X
RT to spread the word.
New: @SenKevinCramer told me he expects a markup on SAFE Banking to happen on Wednesday, September 27.
He added that he doesn’t “dare believe it until the roll is called,” however. 😂
