๐ Welcome to @TheCORGILab!
#CORGILab (Collaborative Oncology Research Group International) is a global oncology research collaborative founded by @EChrisDee, bringing together students, trainees, clinicians, and scientists from around the world to advance cancer research, strengthen health systems, and improve cancer outcomes.
Our work is built on three core principles:
๐งฌ Rigorous science
๐ค Mentorship & collaboration
๐ Equitable cancer outcomes
We believe that meaningful research happens when diverse perspectives come together across disciplines, career stages, and countries. By fostering collaboration and mentorship, we aim to develop the next generation of investigators while producing research that improves cancer care worldwide.
Follow @TheCORGILab for publications, conference presentations, trainee/member achievements, and opportunities to collaborate.
Collaboration has no borders ๐๐๐

So excited to share my first publication with @MSKCancerCenter and our incredible international oncology research collaborative, @TheCORGILab! Our paper on global disparities in cervical cancer clinical trials is now published in @JAMANetworkOpen. ๐
๐ Our study on national cancer-system characteristics and global pan-cancer outcomes is in @JAMAOnc.
Across 185 countries, universal health coverage and GDP per capita independently predicted better cancer survival. @EChrisDee@JamesFanWu@JAMA_current@JAMANetwork

The takeaway: the growing global cancer burden isn't only about biology or screening โ it's about systems. Universal coverage, health investment, a strong workforce, radiotherapy & pathology capacity, and gender equity are levers we can actually pull.
This was our first health-systems paper โ and the foundation for much of what @TheCORGILab has built since. 6/
