Many jobs can already be automated. The ruling class are trying to be smart about it and so far they have been. Unemployment in waves so batches of people can land vs higher percentages of companies seems to be working out. I sincerely hope for everyone and including myself eventually, that we land on our feet when the time comes.

Remember to be there for each other. The shoe could have easily been on the other foot.

Tbh people have been copying eachother for years. We haven't been reinventing the wheel, AI just does it at incredible scale and speed.

So for that reason I would say that its not an ethical problem. People are very much afraid though, not necessarily about the tech and what good it can do, but how it affects society. Does it make the world better for everyone? Or just the select few in charge or already wealthy? I think survival and still remaining relevant is the biggest hurdle for most people.

Personally I worry about falling through the cracks and not getting the necessities for life. The other big issues and no one has a sound solution and progress seems more important than societal implications when it comes to the economy and how people will maintain their lives.

Just my opinion.

I would say that humans have the will to take different paths but the results are the same if you catch my drift.

Like the saying goes, more than one way to skin a cat. Additionally, if this were true, that means the free we perceive to have is an illusion.
