Patricia is a darling woman that I've had the pleasure of working with on teaching principles of metabolic health and nutritional interventions.

Freedom to research safe, ethical and scientifically grounded new treatments for serious mental illness is essential to improving clinical care.
Side effects: secondary typically undesirable effect of a conference
Weight loss
@keto_live you loose wait while eating there for a week.
Wonderful
And even the Kitchen Director Philippe Bischoff lost 2 kg while cooking for us. !!
Congratulation to all of the team
The #KetoLive conference is a wonderful retreat. Everyone bonding over meals and physical activities as well as fantastic presentations, discussions, roundtables, watching movie documentaries together and much more. Such a pleasure to spend time with long time friends @DrElenaGross and new friends who are inspiring and fun.
So much fun to be surrounded by great thinkers and doers! I think every one of us keep having imposters syndrome as a result. I know I certainly do. The level of information provided by amazing dynamic speakers and the warmth and engagement from guests is fantastic.
There’s always the sense that something really special is taking place at @keto_live
After a train journey winding its way up through the alps, you enter a living Wes Anderson scene as you walk through the venue, surrounded by humbling and vast wilderness on every side.
The sound of a Swiss cow bell punctuates the day drawing you into a ballroom where the atmosphere crackles with the latent potential of new ideas and discussions.
Sheltered among the alpine peaks, the warmth of the atmosphere is felt at each dinner; greeting old friends and new in this liminal meeting place, at the top of the world.
Thanks to @keto_live for being the first conference to highlight our work. It was a privilege to come back for my third visit!
Thanks to @PiaJSigler for the picture!
I am thrilled to share the latest work from my lab at @BYU! We investigated the effects of allulose, a rare sugar, on diet-induced obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D) in rats. Over 12 weeks, allulose supplementation showed:
- Reduced body weight gain
- Improved insulin sensitivity
- Enhanced glucose regulation
- Lower food consumption
- Increased GLP-1 levels
Even further, allulose also prevented liver triglyceride accumulation and promoted mitochondrial uncoupling in adipose tissue. These findings highlight allulose's potential as a safe, effective intervention for managing obesity and T2D.
Overall, these are very encouraging results for what is fast becoming the most popular sweetener. We have just started up a human study to confirm some of these findings (and more).

One of more under-discussed effects of hyperglycemia is glycation. High glucose damages fats and proteins, creating advanced glycation end-products. Have you ever considered the origins of hbA1c?
I’m happy to hear from my colleague @PaulReynoldsPhD discussing this fascinating topic. #inflammation #diabetes
How to hack physical performance using various metabolic strategies, including not to overtrain. Great presentation by the amazing @TheKetoKitchen_ at @keto_live.
Just 6 days to go now 🇨🇭 with my case study, I’m hoping to show the web of the “functional and emotional meltdown” that happened to me at only 28. My goal is to raise awareness (not fear!) among endurance athletes and how they can look after both health AND performance 🤩

We need a new algorithm. Every T1 algorithm on physical activity tells me to make complex alterations to insulin and consume carbs regularly. But the last 67 mile bike ride was done safely on 8 yes eight grams of carbs on a ketogenic diet.
Keto Live is always a major highlight of the year. Looking forward to sharing new research findings and exciting developments with our newly established UK Metabolic Psychiatry Hub!
Hope to see you there! 🏔️
I wonder how many people with insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes are struggling with their metabolic health due to an iron deficiency. This report in women with both iron deficiency and T2DM found that every metabolic marker (glucose, HbA1c, insulin resistance, etc.) improved by simply taking an iron supplement. Frankly, I can't help but suspect many of the test subjects are vegan... https://t.co/OQjAOVGb8J
Congratulations to @ShebaniMD and collaborators at @Stanford on the publication of their pilot study of a #ketogenicdiet for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia!
🧠 79% had clinically meaningful psychiatric improvement measured by Clinical Global Impression (CGI).
👉 100% reversed metabolic syndrome
👉 Average weight loss was 10% of body weight over 4 months
