It won't be long and physics will be overrun by AI slop, mark my words. It's a disaster waiting to happen for academia that has been optimizing for quantity over quality for decades, you can basically see it coming.

Leaving China now after the tomography conference and giving talks. It's very impressive with a lot of smart hard working people doing ambitious science.
The infrastructure also strikes as new and well designed, clearly research is the priority here.
Wish you all luck 🤞 🥠 🤞

@skdh If this happened at my university (unfortunately, it might...), you could approach the Physics Department, explaining how it happened and asking hem to help out (even if the Department didn't cause the problem either, they might still want to be part of the solution). Good luck!
Stanley Hall's newest resident has arrived: Theia! The new @thermofisher microscope on the @UCBerkeley campus will be outfitted with the laser phase plate. Thanks to @TheMuellerLab with support from @cziscience!
Today in #PHY595#QuantumComputing: The final exam! It's comprehensive but emphasizes the more recent material on quantum protocols and quantum algorithms.
Working 24 years in cryo-EM now, with an engineering background, it was such a great honor, and fantastic learning experience, visiting Holger’s lab. Greatest most knowledgeable team I’ve ever met!
