As of 2015, there were approx 101,200 people living with HIV in the UK, and slightly more than 50% of them are heterosexual. About 90% are on effective treatment and therefore cannot pass it on. #UequalsU

For anyone reading this, once the numbers reach these levels, a -ve person’s chances of coming into contact with someone with an infectious vl are vastly reduced, transmission rates drop.

It was the ingrained & underlying view that to be gay is to be somehow “less of a man.” I think you know it was derogatory rather than in sympathy.

@KatieTheMinton It was just one of those casual, off-the-cuff remarks. Nothing meant by it, but a sign that insidious denigration runs deep. Adam made a joke about bring rugby tackled, & the guy whispered “I enjoyed that” in his ear. Alex added “the worst thing is, so did you.” Why “worst”?

@STN_Airport Not sure who to approach, but in the Depts Lounge, the handwash water in all the taps is scaldingly hot. The attendant I tried to speak to about it didn’t seem to understand what I was talking about (although was very cheerful & smiley). Someone could get injured.
