Yesterday, today, and tomorrow is a great time to suggest universal healthcare and other universal basic necessities coverages. For a country that LOVES boasting about our Constitution we sure do ignore the "promote the general welfare" mandate in the preamble.
If I had to reregister to vote, post SAVE Act, I'd need:
a $25 copy of my birth certificate,
a $5 copy of my name change,
a $3 copy of my marriage license,
and an $89 drivers license.
OR a $165 passport.
Not only is it an unconstitutional poll tax,
it's also a mostly pink tax.
The DSA is definitely pro-housing. Wtf are you talking about? They have a Housing Justice Commission specifically that covers housing issues and tenant's rights.
“First, age verification laws do not violate the First Amendment.”
> be a kid
> get your first phone
> excited.gif
> want to download the New York Times app and read anonymously
> open App Store
> “parental consent required”
How does that not violate the First Amendment?
@roaddiets How aren't they making it easier? Do you mean because they take environmental & health concerns into consideration before just clearing spaces for new housing? Because if that's the issue I can't think of a democrat who wouldn't do the same.
After two major wins in last night's New York congressional races, the DSA says it is shifting its focus to now elect Melat Kiros in CO-1.
Kiros' primary is next week, June 30.
What the actual fuck. Venezuela was just struck by back-to-back earthquakes. The first one was 7.1 and the second one was 7.5. Thousands are feared to be dead. This is incomprehensible. The entire world needs to rally around and support Venezuela right now. 💔
Same question back at you for literally the entire Dem Party. I'm turning 39 this month and life under both parties has gotten worse not better for most Americans for the entirety of my life & possibly longer. Maine's state Dems are decent but National Dems have been useless.
I’m gonna be honest, I’m not DSA and don’t really know if I’ll ever be. But I do know they are pro healthcare, pro union, pro housing, and anti genocide.
When I see tweets like this, all I see is the Dem party telling me they don’t stand for the same stuff as above. So…why not?
This time around some districts chose to boot out AIPAC recipients. But let's keep in mind that it's always best to over ask for things when heading into negotiations. People too your left asking for more than you want is more likely to get you it versus you asking only for it.
Moderates should be coalition building with all veins within the Democratic Party and that includes DSA members. Y'all are pissed at the wrong people. Primaries exist for a specific reason: helping choose the direction of the party by allowing each district to choose candidates.
Moderates need to out-organize and fight back on the ground and online against the DSA. We cannot win important races when the DSA has the loudest microphone in the party. If you want to build the best alternative to Trump, now's the time to get going.
Well first off, you're an idiot. Which kind of puts a damper on you understanding anything people explain to you. So you can just sit there begrudgingly with your arms folded as you glare at the reality that people with different opinions exist & they are just as American as you.
Anti-Israel.
Anti-America.
Anti-Western Civilization.
Why am I the only Democrat in the U.S. Senate that refuses to excuse this or defend any of those self-identified communists?
The party does not belong to any individual or generation, should't belong to any corp or special interest, and like all things, MUST adapt to the times for its own, and everybody's survival
We have a 2 party duopoly. And still have a duty to fight for our freedom
Millions of ppl believe our party should be bolder, less beholden, and loyal to the masses not the massa.
BREAKING: @AOC just introduced the AI Data Center Moratorium Act in the House.
The bill would ban the construction of data centers until Congress addresses the economic, environmental, and safety impacts of AI.
