@atrupar Johnson says “We need to believe in the integrity of the election system” as he undermines the integrity of the election system w/innuendo and lies. Mail in ballots in CA count received up to a week later. So same day results are impossible in a close race.
@EricLDaugh Just to be clear, Democrats have repeatedly tried to pass a simple clean funding bill for TSA. It is the Republicans who have refused this simple solution in favor of holding out for legislation that will continue to fund ICE without safeguards or guidelines.

I am grateful to this breakdown - so many critics are saying the message is the problem, but it is the din of the well constructed right-wing propaganda machine that is the true obstacle that must be addressed.
In light of Third Way's now infamous memo advising the Democrats to avoid using certain words that sound “elitist, divisive, or confusing” to "ordinary" voters who care about "what really matters to the American people," a THREAD.
@AlBuffalo2nite@SenAdamSchiff I’m sorry someone has to tell you this, but the Mueller Report definitively said that there WAS Russian interference in the election. So, if that’s your case Against Schiff, it’s pretty weak tea.
The Minnesota assassin appears to be a hate-filled right winger. So can we stop walking on eggshells about MAGA's legitimization of political violence?
Yes, Republicans have also been the target of inexcusable violence, but this isn't a "both sides" issue.
1/ A🧵on the danger.
@ThrillaRilla369 Absolutely roam freely. Biked 2 miles into school, explored every side road, climbing tree, and sometimes get home to microwave dinner for me and my brother.
Tens of millions of Americans are about to lose their healthcare.
Congressional Republicans are working to cut nearly $1 trillion in healthcare to pay for tax cuts for the uber-wealthy…but they’re not coming right out to say that.
3 ways they’ll try to spin it.🧵📽️👇🏻
@danaludwig So, you contend that the person who moved the deaths down to 20k/month should be seen as less successful than the person who ran an average of 50k/month. I don’t understand why you “nearly lost it.” 20k/month is tragic, but saving 30k/month is significant.
@BlackKnight10k On this point, Trump would have been able to declare the tariffs regardless of whether the government was shut down - so having Congress able to offer some legislative counterpoint (if enough have the conscience) is better than being out of session.
If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.
Remember when Democrats told you that Trump would do all of these Project 2025 initiatives and MAGA told you it was all a lie?
Project 2025 called for all of this:
1. Dismantling the Department of Education
2. Mass layoffs and restructuring of federal agencies
3. Rolling back environmental regulations
4. Increasing presidential control over the executive branch
5. Making it easier to fire federal employees
6. Promoting Christian nationalist policies in government
7. Preparing loyalty tests or ideological vetting for federal hires
8. Weakening the independence of government institutions (e.g., FBI, DOJ)
9. Re-centralizing power in the White House
10. Limiting LGBTQ+ rights, particularly in education and healthcare
11. Weakening protections for civil service jobs
12. Replacing career civil servants with politically-aligned personnel
We told you so.
1. Yesterday, Donald Trump signed a royal decree (ie, an executive order) claiming that the president has the legal and constitutional right to unwind and shut down the United States Department of Education.
@AsteadWH Democrats don’t have a project 2025 of their own because they don’t have to come up with secret plans to dismantle government (Trump claimed he had no plans to use it because voters didn’t like it), Dems put together a plan to help which Reps denied & the press didn’t report on.
@bluhue123 I believe the Republicans are triggering a shutdown by crafting a CR that includes language shielding Trump from being held accountable for the tariffs and the work of DOGE. They control all branches, they broke it, they pay for it.
@JuiceTradesIG @SeanCasten In this instance, it was entirely within the Republican’s power to craft a CR that didn’t include language that intentionally undermined the separation of powers - so no, it is not extreme to ask for a clean CR, in order to maintain democracy.
@Gwoice@SoulReaper2222@tribelaw And what part of “liberty” is held sacred by destroying the separation of powers and supporting the bogus Unitary Authority and the unilateral, unexamined actions that Trump is undertaking?
Trump is trying to rewrite history. So let’s set the record straight on the economy Biden handed him:
- Lowest unemployment rate of any admin. in 50 years
- 16m jobs created, including 1.5m in manufacturing & construction
- 3% annual GDP growth
- Inflation falling to near 2%
Social Security has contracts with every state that allow parents to register their newborns for Social Security cards at the hospital.
They also contract with states to find out when people die.
A week ago, the Trump Admin canceled both contracts with one state — Maine.
