St Paul's Chapel in #StPaulsSquare was consecrated on this day in 1779. Originally it had no spire because of lack of funds. Money was found and a stone spire was erected in 1824.
It was the church of successful industrialists like #MatthewBolton and #JamesWatt who lived nearby.
