@Annette782220@Presby1992 The Ephesians were already converted by the time Paul wrote this letter. Do you know how/where they were converted?
Eph 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are at Ephesus and WHO ARE FAITHFUL in Christ Jesus:
@Presby1992@Annette782220 I gave multiple verses showing the thief was already in a covenantal relationship with God under the O.C. He was a Jew. Circumcised of the flesh.
@Annette782220@Presby1992 Ah ok. Well Ephesians 2:8-9 doesn’t say faith alone.
There’s only one verse in the entire bible that says “faith alone”
Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
@Presby1992@NewestPapa 1Ti 2:15 But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.
This would be the verse he’s referring to
@Annette782220@Presby1992 Also,
Mrk 1:5 And all the country of Judea was going out to him, and all the people of Jerusalem; and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.
He may have been baptized. Who knows. It doesn’t say
@Annette782220@Presby1992 The thief on the cross didn’t have a chance to repent either.
Also the thief on the cross was a Jew, lived and died under the O.C.
@Annette782220@Presby1992 Mat 10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them: "Do not go in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the Samaritans; but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
How would he confess Jesus as Lord as a gentile? He couldn’t.
@Manof4Truth@Presby1992 I mean. If they’re being honest with the text…
Daniel 9:26 says The city and the sanctuary. Context city is Jerusalem. Sanctuary being the Holy of Holies.
Luk 21:20 "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near.

@WayfaringWord@taco_talks There’s only one High Priest ever within the Law.
The High Priest is Jesus. No one else.
You should do research into your own cult.
Yall are free masons.

@WayfaringWord@taco_talks Seeing as how there’s no 2k yr old apostles how did you manage to get this authoritative Holy Spirit the LDS speaks of?
It was only to the 1st century. You see Peter talking in Present tense.
Act 2:16-17
Peter said THESE DAYS Acts 3:24
John IT IS THE LAST HOUR. 1 Jn 2:18
@WayfaringWord@taco_talks Also those spiritual gifts were to CEASE
1Co 13:8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
The spiritual gifts belonged to the first century.
@WayfaringWord@taco_talks The pattern you cite proves apostolic authority and the orderly appointment of leaders in the first-century church. It does not prove the LDS restoration of a lost Melchizedek priesthood. Those are two different claims. Only one of them is in the text.
@WayfaringWord@taco_talks The apostles exercised real authority under Him, but they never claimed to possess or pass on the Melchizedek priesthood as an office that could vanish and later return through Joseph Smith.
@WayfaringWord@taco_talks The New Covenant was fully established. There is no biblical category for a total loss of priesthood authority that then needed restoration in the 19th century. That narrative is an addition to the finished work of Christ and the once-delivered gospel.
@WayfaringWord@taco_talks Christ remains the sole High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, holding that priesthood permanently and non-transferably (Heb7:24).
