A day of talks and workshops at Sevenoaks School last week, around the theme of nature sounds. Amazing full circle moment as I returned to the place of one of my earliest (and still favourite) recordings, fallow deer in Knole Park just behind the school!
I’m finally ready to tell the world about my private life. This has taken a lot of courage and a lot of thought. But here we go. https://t.co/MrkhxmiZPZ
@BBCSpringwatch were talking last week about Red Kites and there amazing manoeuvrability. I witnessed that beautifully at the Laurieston Red Kite Centre, Scotland last year. The staff were kind enough to let me place a 360 camera down to capture them in action. @ChrisGPackham
Can you help us?
Our Sevenoaks reserve was raided over the weekend! The cost to replace the stolen power tools and repair the site is estimated at around £20,000.
If you have information, report it. If you want to help us, you can donate to our appeal.

Yes these are far right nationalist thugs literally storming the Cenotaph on Armistice Day.
Suella Braverman whipped up this frenzy.
I call on her to resign, immediately.
Please RT if you do too.
Learning a lot from doing the daily South African Birdle quiz from @BirdLife_SA. Hadn't heard of today's bird, but there's always a nice description and links on completion.

Why do BBC and other news channels always send their reporters out into the storms to tell us it's windy out. Just tell us from the studio where the microphones work properly and the reporters don't look quite so traumatised! 😳
Taking a break from my usual office job of databases and cataloguing and having the pleasure of digitising British wildlife tapes from the late Philip Radford 😊
The government, in trying to explain why they don't wish to put any effort into reintroducing beneficial species like beavers, used a photo of a coypu; a South American species that, while somewhat resembles a beaver, very much isn't a beaver. Says it all really! 🙄
🆕We have today published
@DefraGovUK 's response to our Species Reintroduction report. DEFRA have told us that ‘the reintroduction of species is not a priority for the government’.

Other highlights included thousands of Pink-footed geese roosting, Brent Geese and Bearded Tits at Titchwell, and watching the orionites in the night sky after setting my recording gear up at 4am!
