@luinalaska My best friend's mom hurt her back at work they denied workers comp (of course). Social security disability takes years. She went back to worl one day. Came home and killed herself. This abuse and ignoring the problems has got to STOP.

@stinkydweeb As a nurse who worked triage in a hospital "are you having any suicidal thoughts?" Is a normal part of triage. Because the next answer is "do you have a plan". I have had many yeses. And we had one person who attempted while in the department. We take it very seriously.

What happened ?

On 12 March 2026 around midnight, our batchmate, a PGY-1 General Surgery resident, attempted suicide and is currently admitted in the ICU fighting for her life.

She had reportedly been facing repeated public humiliation, body-shaming, and alleged workplace bullying over a prolonged period.

She had cellulitis and had reportedly been working continuously in the ward without sleep for nearly 3 days. Several incidents in recent days appear to have worsened her mental distress:

• During an orientation session, she was told in front of her co-JRs that she needed a psychiatric evaluation.

• In the elective OT, she was publicly shouted at by a senior for being 1–2 minutes late in bringing micropore (a task usually handled by OT staff). She reportedly had a panic attack in the OT and was asked to leave surgery.

Despite repeatedly expressing that she wanted to leave the department due to the extreme stress and toxic work environment, her concerns were allegedly not addressed.

She is a gold medalist in General Surgery during her MBBS exams.

We urge the authorities to conduct a fair and transparent investigation and take strict action if any wrongdoing or harassment is found.

Resident doctors deserve dignity, safe working conditions, and humane treatment.

Picture this you’re at a hospital in a hurricane. The power has gone out, there is one generator supporting a 6 month old who is currently on life support until they can get them into surgery. There is also a freezer with an embryo in it. There is only enough power for one.

Most people are going to unplug the freezer to keep the living breathing baby alive. Congrats now you understand the diffeeence between a baby and a pregnancy

In a meeting at the office one time, this dude fully repeated something I had said almost word for word, just slightly changed. After he finished, my coworker raised her hand and said, “I don’t have anything to add, but I just wanted to point out he basically repeated exactly what Natalie said like it was his own idea.” Happy Women’s History Month to her.

@acechhh Yeah. They really think that all of those things are magical & appear immediately. We can refer pts to organizations. Might take months depending. Docs believe case managers (SW or RN) can get anything fast because we work our asses off to manage to pull it off most times.
