@Grammatizator In Bangalore while studying Architecture this used to happen to me. Teachers breaking out in Kannada. I always asked them to switch to English. Some were nice about it, some were assholes about it, but I never stopped asking.
@Productogy@shreyas I am confident in my skill because I did architecture, midway through I realised I can’t make good money, continued while interning in tech in marketing. Then moved to ops because I felt lack of instant gratification. Recognised it, wanted to become high impact, moved to PM.
@SaniyaDhawan1 I like to play a game in my head called wholesome or trap? As most wholesome things have been recognised and weaponised by predators already.
If you’ve been stuck for more than an hour in #BangaloreTraffic please cut your losses and walk back home. And by home I mean home town. It’ll be quicker and less tiring. Bengaluru is getting tougher and tougher to defend in all “best city” arguments.
@rite2riddhi I have come across the opposite perspective where non tech people from outside IT assume software engineering is something they will never be able to understand. They almost treat tech itself like a blackbox and value engineers more then other non tech people from IT.
@prvkhvr Its much easier to pay attention to conviction and to mistake criticality for doubt in understanding. I agree to your statement but anyone who has critical thinking needs to work much more on building credibility when compared to someone who sounds credible due to conviction.
@shreyas I would argue that credit of the impact is overrated (legacy). But isn’t impact beyond credit and monetary value? Pursuit of impact is overrated as well, as I understand now from your response, but impact itself should not be labelled overrated right?
@ryanlpeterman@shreyas My understanding is that chasing impact essentially makes ‘impact’ a short term goal, with only numerable contributors to it, which it is not. I am on-board with the thought that impact could be an eventual byproduct, but goal should be just the enjoyment of the craft itself.
