It's a good time to remind myself why I chose crypto and Web3 as my career path 5 years ago.

Big money is good (not happened), but freedom, mobility, cross-border(space), cross-time capabilities are far more important.

Crypto has helped millions of people escape the traps of wars, tyrants, and bankrupting states that try to squeeze every last penny out of their citizens and took all possible freedoms.

Remember the internet in the early 2000s?
It was a place for new economy, free thinking, new technologies, builders, and dreamers.

Now, corporations, tyrants and bureaucrats have completely subjugated this environment.

To remain free and relevant, we must move forward despite difficulties, mistakes, and pain.

Web3 offers the prospect of a free internet and hope for the better future.

So far, the only successful examples are
- stores of value, such as Bitcoin
- Stablecoins
- DeFi

However,
- RWA and
- Digital identity
- AI
are on the horizon and could theoretically take us to a new level.

these are not “drama” posts... or "noise."

they contain receipts, transparency requests, and legitimate on chain evidence.

more than 90 percent of the questions asked, whether from known accounts or anon accounts, are fair and valid concerns from what I can tell.

the moderators and parties being questioned simply do not like the tone, and are hiding behind a false narrative of being “attacked.”

locking these threads is censorship in plain sight.

and it raises one basic question:

"how are we supposed to build a protocol that stands against censorship while people helping steer the project do not seem to recognize what censorship looks like in practice?"

so a new forum “announcement” just dropped, and wow... it somehow made everything MUCH worse.

they ignored every fact, doubled down on locking threads, and tried to rebrand blatant censorship as moderation.

this is genuinely bad for @Polkadot

a few key takeaways:

totally ignored evidence 🚨
on chain receipts were laid out publicly by unpaid dvs and w3f backed community members. not one point was addressed. they just pretended the evidence does not exist. them pushing "nothing to see here" vibes only lead to more questions.

no accountability whatsoever 😶‍🌫️
not one concrete step to investigate the questionable payments, conflicts of interest, or moderation decisions that the community raised, only more spin and deflection from the facts.

attacking whistleblowers 🤯
they actually call community members "jerks" in an official post, blaming the ones exposing questionable spends rather than answering their concerns. wow.

likes exposing the circle⭕️
the announcement is being liked by the same small group tied to undisclosed treasury relationships and friends of moderators, confirming the buddy network everyone has been worried about. they are not even trying to hide it anymore. take a moment to look at both announcements, read the comments under each forum thread and social post, and the pattern becomes obvious.

censorship by obscurity🤮
first threads were hidden, then they were made visible after pushback but kept locked. now they refuse to unlock them and still have not provided a valid reason. this is censorship, full stop. calling it 'moderation' does not change what everyone can see happening in real time.

and here are just a few things that were conveniently left out of their message:

• no mention of how Jay used treasury funded platforms (The Kus) to smear unpaid DVs + w3f backed community members asking fair questions and sharing receipts. that behavior is never addressed or even acknowledged.

• ignores the fact that Jay has STILL not provided spend proof since february. there is no explanation for roughly 14k spent in january and february on low quality or botted traffic, and zero clarity on how much more may have been spent unwisely since march.

• a questionable 54,021 USDC transaction from nova to crane was raised, yet the thread remains locked. crane posted a transaction, but it did not really prove anything. why lock that discussion that is still ongoing, and when will leemo or another nova team member weigh in officially?

• hundreds of thousands of dollars were rushed out as “future work” while closing the marketing bounty, right before claiming all funds had been returned to the treasury. this contradicts the terms of the proposal to close the bounty. some of these funds were sent to parties with (serious) unresolved issues.

accountability matters, and censorship cannot be the fallback when people ask tough questions.

polkadot will never mature if we allow the truth to get buried and normalize friends protecting friends.

many of us did not dedicate years to polkadot just to end up dealing with web2 level censorship.

this is how you lose the people who actually care.

stop silencing questions. do better.

@gavofyork Polkadot was built to eliminate central points of power.
Yet today, validator access is centrally controlled by W3F without transparency, without accountability.
A Foundation must serve the network - not rule it.

In 2025, unanswered questions on validator assurance risk replacing trust, which is a foundation asset.

As a Swiss Stiftung, the Web3 Foundation remains legally bound to act within its stated mission, transparency commitments, and published selection criteria. Silence here creates governance debt and may be interpreted as deviation from Stiftungszweck.

The DN Programme Cohort 3 is one of my biggest disappointments in Polkadot.
After betraying the original ambassadors (from 2019–2022), the DN program is the second disappointment.
It all looks not good, @Web3foundation .
Management skills need to be improved significantly; nobody cares about the people who have contributed for years. Its bad for the ecosystem.
