@insidecanoehead To a degree putting the word “mandatory” in front of an evac order is a bit of a platitude for officials to let themselves off the hook. It’s not unusual to find there isn’t much in the way of teeth behind this when faced with someone who adamantly refuses to leave their home.

@contrarianEM TDEM seems like a forward leaning agency that has chosen to place an emphasis on response operations. The curriculum appears to be in the same vein as those who would see FEMA become a uniformed government service… EM undoubtedly suffers from a definition & branding crisis
