Today is World Mental Health Day.
This year, those words hit differently.
Over the past month, my family has walked through the darkest corners of mental illness. My brother Colin’s story has reminded me in the most painful way that mental health struggles aren’t abstract. They are real, relentless, and often invisible.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that we never really know the weight someone is carrying. Be gentle with others, and with yourself. Reach out when you can. And if you’re the one struggling, please know that you’re not a burden. You’re needed. You’re loved.
In honor of Colin and everyone fighting silent battles, I hope today is a reminder to check in on your people, and to talk about mental health even when it’s uncomfortable. Especially then.
💚 If you’re struggling, please reach out.

I’m throwing a 3rd culture kid jam in San Francisco
I’ve always felt too Desi in America
And too American in Delhi
If you feel the same – you are a third culture too.
So I'm hosting an event where you can meet people like you
and enjoy live music (played by me!) and exotic coffee

In my 12 years of practicing as a therapist I’ve come to realize that some people really do not need therapy, instead they need community. Legit friendships, associates, peers and family members.
you can pick basically any skill, consistently practice it for just a year, and end up being better at it than 95% of the population.
that’s how low the bar is.
no competition. the most difficult and only obstacle is you.
