Highlights from White Coat Wednesday, where we joined @myncafp to advocate for health policy at the NC State Legislature. We had the pleasure of talking with @FousheeforNC, @AllenBuansi, @CalebRudow, Julie Mayfield & John Agar - Thank you for your time! #whitecoatwednesday#ncpol
Not forcing residents to work 24hr shifts & instead capping at "just" 16hrs associated with ~33% reduction in medical errors & adverse events. Errors resulting in death dropped by 63%. Tell me again how exploitative hours are essential for proper training.

I dislike the “superwoman” rhetoric in medicine. I have no desire to be that. I’m lowkey lazy. I love rest. I don’t want to “do it all.” I will take full maternity leave; I don’t want to answer emails on vacation. I wish I saw that practiced (& even celebrated) in my field.
Residents, forget the well-being index, what are you listening to in the car?
Medical podcasts: peak wellness
Non-fiction: pretty well
Fiction/fantasy: hanging in but ok
Music: something is wrong

I was someone’s PCP for the 1st time today! Staring intern year has been rewarding, but also challenging (physically, mentally and emotionally). Being in clinic was a good reminder of why I chose this; connecting with people to help them achieve their health goals. #FMRevolution
I'd like to announce that I've added a new section to my CV called 'Contributions to Diversity: Mentoring, Outreach, and Events Organized'. It's time we normalized getting credit for #DEI efforts.
