Special Toronto City Council Meeting: Wed Feb 8 2012 re Metrolinx Request for TOCouncil Clarity: LRT or Subways or Both or ?? (Tweets by @HiMYSYeD) #TransitCity
John Tory's Cancellation of Storm Water Infrastructure is and will be muni equivalent to Rob Ford's Cancellation of Transit City.

How can anybody look at this and *not* become radicalized? I'm walking 20 minutes to get from one side of this highway to the other because the alternative is paying a *third transit fare* ($3.20) just to go 1km as the crow flies. I already paid $10 to take the bus 57km here.
@Milnoc@tysmo With tightly packed homes, building a subway station near them would require expropriations. Building next to highway where the government already owns the land is much easier. And can collect express buses from faraway such as what Tysmo did.

And then I ran to Waterfront Station to drop in on the press conference. The new #SeaBus Burrard Chinook boasts First Nations art work for its exterior livery. #TransLink#vanpoli
Immediately after getting my 2nd vaccine dose at the convention centre, I had a pretty sweet view of #SeaBus' brand new Burrard Chinook making its celebratory arrival.
Regular service starts today. #TransLink#vanpoli 🎉
Yesterday morning, there was a short exchange between me and the TTC about the absence of service on the 504 bus shuttle on Broadview, and I wondered whether the buses had been "borrowed" for an emergency on Dundas at the time. It turns out that was not the case.
(2) What was really going on was that nobody was minding the store on the 504 and the buses were running in packs. This chart is from @TransSee tracking actual vehicle movements.
What I learnt on the Twitter this week:
1. After cancelling Scarborough's transit build twice in ten years, Doug Ford puts shovel to ground this week. Says if he loses 2022 election he will cancel this plan too though.
2. Handle falls off Doug Ford's ceremonial gold shovel.
If you’re a member of the #SFU community living in Burnaby, you’ll want to make your way to the nearest polling station tomorrow for the Burnaby By-election. Those elected will guide important initiatives, such as the #BurnabyGondola. Cast your vote: https://t.co/HwJIAyDZ5K
Look in the mirror, Doug. Your one stop subway extension will be $6 Billion and more - if it's ever built. For less, residents of Scarborough would have had 3 rapid transit lines, all running now. (Had help on this one from many elected officials who knew better)
3 minute Skytrain headways (minutes between trains) on a Sunday afternoon mean I don’t even bother running if I see a train already on the platform. The next one’s already close. As my friend @humantransit always reminds us, FREQUENCY IS FREEDOM. Thanks @TransLink.
This proposed site will annex the site of Iqbal Foods and the Thorncliffe Mosque, community hubs recently used as immunization sites due to their reach! I don't understand how @Metrolinx belives this minimizes impact to community - clearly speaks to which community is prioritized
Have your say! The Hurontario LRT is coming to Brampton Gateway Terminal, and we’re examining a Main Street alternative to extend the system from the terminal to Downtown Brampton GO. Review the study and provide your feedback: https://t.co/xbVZy4Voiz
TTC workers and riders in hard hit #COVID19 neighbourhoods are sounding the alarm. We know that the most crowded bus routes are in essential worker neighbourhoods but seeing these photos is heartbreaking.
Can we expect more buses on these routes?
