Just read a copy of this silly book, and if anyone is curious for a review from someone who lived it first-hand: this book is political fairy smut for the permanent, professional chattering class. The ones who rarely enter the arena, but profit from the spectacle of those that do. Put simply, it amounts to a bunch of unoriginal, uninspired lies written by irresponsible self promoting journalists out to make a quick buck. It relies on unnamed, anonymous sources pushing a self-serving false narrative that absolves them of any responsibility for our current national nightmare.
All of this at the expense of a man so completely good and honest that it is impossible for these people to ever understand the why or how of it all. There are real stories to be told and one day they will be. I suspect history will reward the truth.
🧵 THREAD: A federal whistleblower just dropped one of the most disturbing cybersecurity disclosures I’ve ever read.
He's saying DOGE came in, data went out, and Russians started attempting logins with new valid DOGE passwords
Media's coverage wasn't detailed enough so I dug into his testimony:
Woulda. Coulda. Shoulda.
There are lots of post-election explanations going around about what the Harris campaign could have done better to convert voters.
But I disagree. That campaign was extremely well run. They had no time to ramp. She got stronger with each day. Her messaging resonated and mobilized volunteers. It gave us hope.
We felt joy.
The reality is, despite unprecedented achievement, the majority of voters did not agree that things are good. Biden's low popularity has never reflected his stellar achievements. And Harris suffered by association.
Most American voters are short sighted. Self-focused. Low information and ill-informed. There's also a clear backlash to liberalism. Wokeism. There was sexism. And racism.
But at the end of the day, like Carville always says, it's the economy, stupid.
To those that voted with their pocketbooks, you're about to find out what a real bad economy feels like. You deserve it too.
But we'll all suffer.
He was the worst President in history. And when he got voted out, he tried to stage a coup. Then he stole national secrets and sold the ones he didn't store in the bathroom.
He was convicted of fraud, found liable of sexual assault and convicted of 34 felonies. He is half a billion dollars in debt, owned by God only knows who, and the biggest national security risk the nation has ever had.
But at least he's not a Black woman.
Something had to give at this stage in the collapse of neoliberal capitalism. Societies were either going to move left and become more egalitarian or even further right and into fascism.
Fascism it is then.
God help us all.
NY Times headline tomorrow:
“Dems win in massive landslide —
Kamala Harris will be President, with a blue House & Senate
Why this is bad news for Democrats.
By David Brooks”
@DougJBalloon
I want to tell you a story about an old man, with a silly name and ridiculous hair, who was born in New York, became a media personality and then a right wing politician. 🧵
@svdate@djrothkopf Weave? I’ve read and understood complex, run-on sentences from Shakespeare, Chaucer, Gabriel García Márquez, Stephen Hawking, Joseph Campbell, and Carl Jung, and I have no earthly idea what this f*cker is saying most of the time.
@iwelsh Fair comment. I agree that without a crystal ball predictions are difficult. But the anecdotal evidence is supporting the internals showing women voting in much higher numbers than usual motivated by abortion, plus large numbers of m crossover R’s and I’s voting D.
So the majority of the bees coming back were honey bees. And the majority of those are thanks to apiarist. Not indigenous bees which are the ones we need. The wild bees didn’t bounce back. Just the crop bees. We still need to save the indigenous bees.
