Doing hard stuff requires distress tolerance. Building distress tolerance requires doing hard stuff. There is no easy entry point. It gets easier by way of recognition. You think “I’ve been here before”. Pretty soon you’re seeking that state. That’s how you make hard stuff easy.
OpenAI published their official GPT-4.1 prompting guide, and I summarized it into these 13 practical tips to help you get the most out of the new model.
The debate around how evening exercise timing and intensity affect sleep has been around for years. This new @Nature study from @MonashUni, @willahmed, and the @WHOOP team is genuinely groundbreaking. It’s one of those papers you immediately wish you'd written. Here’s a short breakdown:
Analyzing 4.08 million person-nights across 14,689 individuals, two main findings emerge: First, exercise completed ≥4 hours before sleep doesn't disrupt sleep regardless of intensity. Second, within that 4-hour pre-sleep window, exercise intensity becomes the critical variable in a dose-dependent manner.
The data is striking: maximal vs light intensity exercise ending 2 hours before sleep resulted in 36-minute later sleep onset and 5.4% shorter sleep duration. For those who need to exercise closer to bedtime, the practical takeaway is clear: lighter intensity workouts preserve sleep quality. High-intensity sessions should be scheduled earlier than four hours whenever possible.
This is exactly the type of nuanced, real-world evidence that wearable technology can uniquely provide. Data across natural behaviors as people actually live that traditional research simply cannot capture.

NEW WHOOP RESEARCH ON EXERCISE & SLEEP
I am proud to share that @WHOOP research has just been published in @Nature. Our study analyzed 4.3 million nights of sleep across ~15k WHOOP members to answer a simple but important question: does working out at night hurt your sleep?
Big Ag’s playbook: Sell a product linked to cancer. Get sued 177,000 times. Set aside $16 billion for settlements. Then lobby lawmakers to make it illegal to hold them accountable.
Bayer wants immunity, but cancer patients get none. This is corporate greed at its worst.

NEW: Today, I’m releasing a Surgeon General’s Advisory on the causal link between alcohol consumption and increased cancer risk. Alcohol is the 3rd leading preventable cause of cancer in the U.S., contributing to about 100,000 cancer cases and 20,000 cancer deaths each year.
Climate finance should move towards supporting farmers to revitalize agricultural soils as soil degradation is causing exponential increases in global warming. 84% of the world’s farmers are smallholders; they produce a third of the world’s food. Channeling climate finance towards this segment will make it less cost prohibitive, fetch the highest economic and ecological returns on investment & ensure food security for the planet. -Sg #COP29 #SaveSoil

What do children’s handprints have to do with a global climate conference? 🖐️🌍
Meet Sousan, a 63-year-old Earth Buddy with a powerful mission: Save Soil at #COP29. Traveling all the way from the Netherlands to Azerbaijan, Sousan wasn’t just there to listen – she was there to inspire.
Her tool? A beautifully simple idea: Handprints for Soil. Through art, Sousan invited people to ‘raise their hands’ for soil restoration, turning a symbolic gesture into a global movement.
At COP, Sousan went from a solo traveler to a catalyst for action. With boundless passion, she connected with thousands of children, parents, and world leaders, sparking conversations and creativity in equal measure.
Sousan proves that no matter your age or where you’re from, one person’s passion can leave a mark – on hearts, on minds, and on the planet. 🌍💚

Every extra green leaf on the planet will contribute towards cooling the planet. Exposed land will radiate heat and lead to a drop in atmospheric pressure- the hotter the land, the more dramatic the drop resulting in extreme weather events that have the potential to set us back by decades - ecologically, economically, socially. Imperative that we work with urgency to place soil under green shade & restore soil health on a war footing. #SaveSoil. Let’s make it happen. -Sg
🌱 Can soil restoration save lives? Anand Ethirajalu, Director, Cauvery Calling, thinks so.
Featured in IPS News, this inspiring story from #COP29 delves into the journey of a regenerative farmer turned advocate.
🌊 Once-thriving rivers like the Cauvery now run dry for eight months a year
🌾 Farmers who once harvested four crops annually struggle with just one
💔 Desperation is rising, with farmer suicides surpassing war casualties in India
But there is hope: regenerative agriculture.
🔸 Boosts soil carbon, restoring its ability to store water
🔸 Improves yields by 300–800%
🔸 Empowers farmers to thrive again
