Imam Ibn al-Mibrad al-Hanbali also mentions:
“He [Abu al-Hasan al-Ash’ari] has therefore testified against himself that he adhered to Mutazilism and was an advocate of it. Glory be to Allah! Before his repentance, did the Muslims have no imams to follow, such that they had to take as an imam an innovator who had repented of his innovation?
It is as though all the people had died, and no one remained fit for leadership, until an innovator repented of his innovation and thereby became their imam! And did all the Muslims collectively give precedence to a theologian over all the imams of hadith, despite the abundance of scholars at the time?
What nonsense is this!?”

Ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhāb, in his final year, 1206 AH, bore witness in verse to his Hanbali creed.
❝With what tongue can I thank Allah? Indeed, He is the Possessor of a blessing that has overwhelmed every thankful soul.
He has bestowed upon me al-Islam as a favour and grace, with the Qur’an, the light of insight.
And the greatest blessings is the creed of Ibn Hanbal, upon it is my belief on the Day when the hidden secrets are revealed❞.
Imam al-Baghawi al-Shafi’i (d. 516 AH) said:
“’Ilm al-Kalam is newly introduced (i.e., an innovation), for the scholars of the Salaf among Ahl al-Sunnah strongly denounced those who occupied themselves with it.”
[’Aqidah al-Baghawi]
Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal was asked about the meaning of the report:
“Love of the Dunya is the root of every sin.”
Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal said:
“It is that the Dunya resides in his heart, and he gives it preference over everything.”

@Tez8Tez8@_Shiroiko@HardenBetter_ I would expect better conduct from a "Scholar & Theologian". I didn't realize you were a troll. Should have guessed it from you profile.
@Tez8Tez8@_Shiroiko@HardenBetter_ Well now I know you're not sincere. You just rattle a bunch of nonsense claims and then say "rekt". I have no interest in discussing this futher.
@Tez8Tez8@_Shiroiko@HardenBetter_ You misunderstood Jesus the same way the Jews did. Jesus himself responds to their accusation. I suppose the "dumbass" here is you.
@Tez8Tez8@_Shiroiko@HardenBetter_ The plain reading of both is the same. All of it indicates unity of purpose. It's not a good prooftext for any form of divinity for Jesus.
@Tez8Tez8@_Shiroiko@HardenBetter_ If that "Hen (ἕν)" shows that Jesus and the Father are of one divine nature, then it also shows that the disciples + Jesus and the Father are of one divine nature, since the same word and formulation is used for them. The Godhead should consist of 15 persons then.
