~~~~Proposal~~~~
Every citizen gets a "Democracy Bond" entitling them to one vote for free each election. Extra votes (not bonds) are available to buy for $100 each in any quantity.
The revenue collected is then paid out as dividends to Democracy Bond holders.
Discuss.
@718Tv Pizza (pepperoni + pineapple yes I'm one of those people) and chopped salad (cucumber, cherry tomatoes, shallots, hard boiled eggs, maybe some feta, vinaigrette).
@RichardHanania Seems to me he was gonna try one way or the other. If anything his detachment from reality saved Ukraine from far worse by making him bungle the initial plans based on faulty assumptions.
@SamRamani2 Does anyone, even on their side, actually believe this? Claims of planned atrocities in Donbass are one thing, there was an actual war there*, but is there literally any world-view in which this is plausible?
*(started by Russia obviously)
@scomonto@wartranslated He's one of the smarter ones.* This is dripping with sarcasm. His point is that the high command is focusing on stupid things, concrete pyramids, calling a rout a "successful regrouping" etc. while the Ukrainians just keep getting stronger.
*tho of course, he's a terrible person
@LCDougherty@Styx666Official@ncwish "Accountability" only produces honesty and if it's lying that gets punished.
If wrongthink is punished then "accountability" will only produce conformity instead.
@PickelhaubeR@St_Rev Even better, "Activists warn *opinion*." Makes it sound all dark and prophetic and wouldn't it just be irresponsible to simply ignore them.
@m0nster_b@MorlockP His first tweet compares Lincoln to Hitler, Stalin and Mao, saying that "they're on a continuum".
Then he talks about the Confederacy - not a present secession movement and *definitely* about slavery - and refers to the historic West Virginian counter-secession etc etc.
@MorlockP I did, you don't address this.
If you really meant the slaves should also be allowed to secede, then yes, obviously. But then your point becomes "the Confederacy should be allowed to secede as long as they change literally everything they stand for".
@DefMon3 How do you figure? It really looks like they moved / scaled the overlay. You can see a dent in the red over the water that's a good match for the coastline further east.
@gregeganSF The abundance of low-effort "academic" crap is bad enough; now get ready for a flood of literally *zero*-effort crap, all packaged and formatted nicely to better disguise itself. Can't see this going wrong, nosiree.
@torriangray Not that hard to understand.
"Women are shallow" = "I can't get laid but it's not my fault"
Not-conventionally-attractive guy dates attractive women, sudden realization. It *is* my fault, I could be out there getting laid but I'm not. This is super scary and anger inducing.
@RALee85 Now it's Ukraine's turn to adapt to the new + improved Russian tactics and technologies. Maybe we'll see the return of SPAAGs to counter slow and cheap flying bombs? Dust off some of those old Shilkas somebody's gotta have in some warehouse or other.
@francis_scarr For some reason watching Kiselyov gets my hackles up. It's like watching a simulation of a human being. Skabeeva too falls in the uncanny valley. Solovyov and Simonyan seem human by comparison (or maybe I still have leftover goodwill for Solovyov bc of his Lukashenko interview).
