We are up and running with Google Classroom in kindergarten at FBES, using Google drawings to sort vowels and learning how to turn in our work! #FBES#spsk12proud#K2cantoo#gafe4littles
It is important to know about digital citizenship and how we can talk about it with our students. Starting at even a young age to help them as they get older. #smu622
Always important to build meaningful relationships with your students. A classroom culture is established the moment you step through the door. A healthy culture leads to improved learning. #smu622
@AlyssaDeorio Plus it builds meaningful connections for your students. They get to see how the world around them works through some of your experiences.
@ekflemingo Absolutely! Technology is there to enhance not replace. We aren't just forcing technology into classroom we should be using it to making our learning better!
Peter King reports that Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett will hire “a coach for his coaches … an expert in education and technology who will work with each coach to improve engagement with players by learning different and more technologically advanced teaching methods.”
Talking about books is half the fun with learning about reading. Using some or all of these would be great ways to talk about books. Could be with a partner or whole group. Also could use flipgrid or seesaw or another technology tool to record their thoughts. #smu622
Enjoying today's sessions @TCEA Right now ...But I don't know how to booktalk!? with @allie_cornejo @lispylibrarian LOVE IT because I'm Stephanie and my eldest daughter, Alexandra, is Allie. Excellent info/ideas & appreciate the presentation in slides! Thank you!
@smolso21 Looping has lots of benefits! You know each other and know exactly where to the start with each student the second year. The biggest hurdle is having a positive classroom culture so students are still all on board.
Social emotional learning has always been important for students, but it became even more evident over the past two years during the pandemic. Building strong relationships is so important in the classroom. The student teacher relationship is the foundation for learning. #smu622
WHAT MAKES A GREAT TEACHER?
•They set high expectations for all students

•They engage students and get them to look at issues in a variety of ways
•They form strong relationships with students and show that they care about them as people
TPACK, SAMR, and PICRAT are all great starting points for learning how to integrate technology into the classroom. Educators want to best utilize technology to enhance learning not just have it be an extra burden. #smu622
Education technology is incredibly complex. There are so many pieces that go into creating it and utilizing it properly. Just like with most things in education it takes a village to use it to its full extent. #smu622
Some are great at designing cars.
Some are great at building cars.
Some are great at maintaining and repairing cars.
Some are great at driving cars.
Some are great at teaching others to drive cars.
A few are good at more than one of those.
Educational Technology is a car.
@mxbara21 It absolutely is one of the hardest parts but so important. It guides what needs to come next and how we can get to our goals. As we all become better at using formative assessments it not only helps us educators, but it helps our students.
Great additions to assessments in the classroom. Really allows students to self reflect and think about their work. Also helps guide teachers in what might need to be reviewed or addressed again. #LDT620
Absolutely! It feels the essence of formative assessment has gotten lost of the years. Getting more people on the same page with assessments will only lead to better achievement all around.
Absolutely! We aren't directing activities and just planning the lesson we want our students to actually learn and understand. Having a direct goal and making sure we hitting that goal with our students. #LDT620
“Rather than asking, “What will we teach in the curriculum?” (indicating a focus on content inputs), the fundamental curriculum question becomes, “What should students be able to do with their learning?” (indicating a focus on student performance).”
