The #British Isles, I feel, are small enough as it is, without us splitting up.

As we reflect on the anniversary of D-Day, we remember the courage and sacrifice of all those who served during the Normandy landings.
Their actions shaped history, and we continue to honour the generations whose lives were forever changed by war.๐ฌ๐ง
Today, on the anniversary of the Normandy Landings, we remember the extraordinary courage, sacrifice and determination of the men who landed on the beaches of Normandy and helped change the course of history.
Many never came home. Many more carried the memories of that day with them for the rest of their lives. Their bravery, alongside the sacrifice of an entire generation, secured the freedoms and way of life that we enjoy today.
As time passes, it becomes even more important that we continue to tell their stories and ensure that their bravery is never forgotten.
I also pay tribute to all those who have served our country since, and to the veterans who continue to make a valuable contribution to our communities across Wales and the United Kingdom.
We owe them a debt that can never truly be repaid, but one that should always be remembered.
Lest We Forget. ๐ฌ๐ง
At 22-56, 5th June, 1944
The first of 8,500 British soldiers from the 6th Airborne Division set off in gliders to go behind enemy lines in France and prepare for the land invasion on D-Day.
800 men would die in the vital mission.
True heroes and legends.
Lest we forget ๐ฌ๐ง๐ฌ๐ง๐ฌ๐ง
It is with great sadness that we can confirm the deaths of Lieutenant Commander Chris Gayson and Lieutenant Lily-Mae Fisher of 846 Naval Air Squadron, and Petty Officer Owen Green of 845 Naval Air Squadron, who died in Devon during routine training activity on 3 June.
4 June 1940.
At one of Britain's darkest moments, with much of Europe already fallen and the British Army evacuated from Dunkirk, Winston Churchill stood in the House of Commons and delivered words that would echo through history.
"We shall fight on the beaches..."
It wasn't just a speech.
It was a message to a nation under threat that surrender was not an option.
Britain stood alone. The odds were stacked against us. Many believed defeat was inevitable.
But courage isn't about knowing you'll win.
It's about refusing to give up when everything says you should.
That generation endured bombing raids, rationing, loss, uncertainty and sacrifice on a scale most of us can barely imagine today.
Whatever our politics, whatever our differences, we owe an enormous debt to those who stood firm when freedom itself was on the line.
Their resilience helped shape the Britain we know today.
We remember them. ๐ฌ๐ง

It is with deep sadness that we can confirm three members of the Royal Navy have died during a helicopter training exercise on Wednesday 3 June near Sourton, Devon.
๐จ Andrew Bailey, the Governor of the Bank of England, has said today that Churchill needs to be removed from our ยฃ5 notes for "security reasons".
What a load of rubbish.
They can improve security without erasing our history!
Churchill was a hero and he must be recognised.
When Liz Saville Roberts MP (Dwyfor Meirionnydd Constituency) claims that the people of #Wales voted for #Separatist Party #PlaidCymru, it should be remembered that this is frankly her opinion, and bears no resemblance to what actually happened.
It was a vote to punish @WelshLabour NOT an endorsement for #Separatist Party Plaid Cymru. It closely followed #UnitedKingdom voting patterns.
Plaid Cymru are a Minority Administration
Plaid Cymru got 444,665 votes
Number of Registered voters: 2,433,921
Turnout: 51.6%
Robert's claim in the #British Parliament that it was an endorsement for @Plaid_Cymru #Separatists who desperately tried to do everything to avoid talking about #Welsh Separation needs to to be challenged.

๐๐ฌ๐ง Today marks the anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II โ a defining moment in British history and the beginning of a lifetime dedicated to public service.
For generations of those who served in the Armed Forces, her reign provided a lasting sense of continuity, duty and national unity. Her connection with the Armed Forces Community remained steadfast throughout her life.
As we reflect on this historic occasion, we remember the values of service and commitment that continue to shape communities across the UK today.
Thank you for your service โbossโ.
You are missed more deeply than you could ever realise maโam. ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ป๐ฌ๐ง๐๐๐ฌ๐ง
๐บ๐ฌ๐ง We are saddened to hear of the passing of Alec Penstone, a Royal Navy veteran of the Second World War, who has died aged 101.
From volunteering during the Blitz to serving through D-Day and beyond, Alec was part of a generation whose service helped shape the world we live in today. He remained committed to remembering those who never returned and generously shared his experiences with younger generations throughout his life.
Alec was a familiar face at commemorations and remembrance events, helping to keep the stories of those who served alive for future generations.
We remember him with gratitude and respect, and send our sincere condolences to his family, friends and all who knew him. ๐บ๐ฏ๏ธ๐๏ธ

Plaid Cymru wants a "Wales-specific visa" to force people to stay here. Good luck with that when England is right next door with a massive job market and zero border checks. Absolute fairy-tale politics. ๐ค #Reform
It is completely wrong that these violent thugs are being let off from a further trial for the assault on PC Marsden
They viciously beat three police officers and the evidence is plain to see on CCTV - including the assaults on female PCs Ward and Cook for which Amaad and Amaaz have already been convicted
At the time, the police officers were falsely accused of racism. This is yet another case of criminals using false allegations of racism to try to get sympathy. With such clear CCTV evidence, we need justice to be done by prosecuting these thugs for all their crimes

Veteran Paul Matson knows first-hand how difficult life after service can be.
โThat little bit of lonelinessโ can become something much bigger without the right support around you.
Thatโs why Hull 4 Heroes created peer support groups, drop-in spaces and wellbeing services for veterans and their families โ backed by funding from Veteransโ Foundation.
Because nobody should feel they have to struggle alone.๐
The elections across the #UnitedKingdom were in large, a vote against #Labour on a #UK national level.
Here in #Wales the election of a #Separatist Party was not an 'endorsement' of #PlaidCymru, it correlated with the voting pattern across the rest of the #UnitedKingdom with huge Labour losses.
#Welsh voters wanted to send a clear message to punish 27 years of @welshlabour & not a resounding 'endorsement' of #PlaidCymru - far from it, they are a minority administration, who will struggle if the other parties stand resolute in their support for #Wales & the #UnitedKingdom & to reject Plaid Cymru & their divisive agenda
We believe that @plaidcymru did not 'win' the election, rather it was a rejection of @WelshLabour@reformparty_uk@WelshConserv@WelshLibDems@gbnews@UKaForceForGood@TogetherUKFound
