Brighton YIMBY are proud to announce our inaugural campaign!. We are supporting the new @HydeHousing development in Whitehawk which will bring 217 much needed affordable homes into the city!. #Whitehawksaysyes
Fantastic that Edinburgh community being involved at such an early stage. 6 months of public consultation in an area that could provide 4,000 new homes as well as new services, retail and public realm. @edinburghyimby@ScotlandYimby
@MossleyHill_BLP @StreetMyrtle@CllrNickSmall@bixtethgardens@CentralBLP@CllrSullivan @St_Michaels_BLP @Riverwardlabour @PrincesPLabour @LiverpoolLabour@LouiseEllman @SaveCaldies Thanks for making us aware of this project. If it doesn't include housing, we're unlikely to get involved. The important thing is that accurate information about the project is publicised & that as many people in the community as poss have chance to comment (whatever their views)
Very excited to announce this account now covers the new national YIMBY Alliance described in today’s @TheSTHome ! (@londonyimby’s starting again from zero - please have a heart and follow them too)
Great to welcome @Kevin_McCloud to #Bristol to launch @Bristol_HF alongside my cabinet lead for housing @housingpaul, creating space to explore how we can reimagine better ways to live in our cities with scalable solutions. Open until 4th Nov so come & see.
Any local YIMBYs want to say 'yes' to 87 new homes including a minimum of 35% council and shared ownership, a new nursery to meet local demand for pre-school places, new commercial premises facing on to Hoe Street?
Get yourselves heard..
Majority of the public say there is an affordable housing crisis and think it will get worse. Read the full poll results for the launch of the @AHC_Housing here: https://t.co/QPSeGApS28
Nevertheless, completely agree with @JN_Brock that "We need a change in the government policy around how you secure affordable housing contributions and allow in particular, extra primacy to demand onsite contributions.” 👏
Reducing affordable housing onsite in exchange for cash contribution due to "viability assessment" often controversial but credit to developer of Henley Road scheme, Reading, for at least making theirs public, and upping contribution. Transparency = ✅
