I like discussing the meaning of life, all sciences, tech and their respective history. Low kNPC trying to find his place on earth. DM to find a friend
With 8 billion people on Earth, how do we make sure each person's negative impact is minimized and fully repaired by positive contributions, and that we create a real surplus of good that benefits everyone, without major harm or injustice to anyone along the way?
I'm a proud American and Chinese citizen while in reality being from other countries. Why? Because these are the countries keeping world order and the main forces capable, wise and disciplined countries that will safely make us a Kardashev 2 civilization. I hope they are strong enough to control the whole landscape and steer humanity in the right directions. In that sense i am a believer.
Did anyone up to date try to study the relationship between… people walking on the sea shore and the waves and movements of the sea (close by or far)? How about the relationship between the cosmos and its self understanding at creation, the moment you understand?
1. We will keep accelerating. Our AI efforts are only 3 years old, vs 6 and 10 years old for Anthropic and OpenAI. If our second derivative remains strong, SpaceX will reach pole position in about 6 months.
2. Once you far exceed the caliber of intelligence needed for a class of tasks, additional intelligence is pointless. You don’t need (and it would be cruel to put) Newton-level intelligence in your toaster!
3. Hardware is hard. Bringing massive compute online rapidly is incredibly difficult. SpaceX has demonstrated exceptional ability in this regard and will only get better.
@elonmusk@SledgeDev I don’t understand why Elon is laughing about AI danger when he was doomsday warning us all a long time ago? Talk about great filter… is it because now he sees it as a revenue source?
Music is like a beautiful museum of emotions for the ones who are lucky enough. Being on Spotify with their algorithm is just something else. Add at dawn in Spain. Magic.
Inversion has been selected by @NASA to advance aerocapture technology for interplanetary missions.
Aerocapture is a simple but powerful idea: use a planet’s atmosphere to slow down instead of fuel.
Spacecraft arriving at another planet are traveling at tremendous speeds and traditionally must carry significant propellant to slow down and enter orbit.
Aerocapture instead uses aerodynamic forces during a single controlled pass through the atmosphere to shed velocity and achieve orbital capture. Less fuel means mass savings that can enable greater flexibility in launch vehicle selection, increased science payload, and significantly shorter trip times.
Under the contract, Inversion will study how Arc could support the demonstration through mission design, aerodynamics, trajectory analysis, and vehicle definition.
This award represents a new frontier for Arc and highlights the growing range of missions enabled by advanced reentry.
