Very excited to invite people to a webinar this Thursday pm 12 ET on new SH0ES H0 result and Pantheon+ updates. On SH0ES side, this is our biggest paper since 2016. If interested, please register for webinar on link below: https://t.co/ykDAYYnQte
My FIRST tweet on paper day! Check out my latest paper on how contamination from non-Ia supernovae can impact SN Ia cosmological measurements. https://t.co/TJzrERFOfb .
Congratulations to our latest Dr, @supernova_lisa who passed her viva today. Lisa's great thesis involved working on @theDESurvey supernovae, and she's unearthed some exciting correlations between distances to SNe and the colour and size of their host galaxies. Well done Lisa!
Paper day! I'm proud to have submitted my last year's work to the journal today. Thanks to everyone at @UoS_SNe, @UoPCosmology@unofficialicg and @theDESurvey for all their hard work and input.

We’ll shortly be kicking off the final instalment of A (Hubble) Tension Headache by looking to the future of H0 measurements. We’ll hear about gravitational waves, galaxy parallax amongst other topics!
We’ll be concluding #H0Soton#Hubbleheadache with a Grand Panel, where we’ll discuss the implications of current observations and theories and work out how to go ahead and solve the Tension!
It’s day 2 of the (Hubble) Tension Headache workshop. Today is Theory day - we’ll be hearing all the possible explanations for the Hubble tension, including modified dark energy, strange early universe physics, and string theory!
The results from Planck, backed up by ACT and other experiments, seem pretty robust! So another question is: "How could we increase H0 from the CMB" -- that is, how do we change the cosmological model such that a high H0 is compatible with the CMB results?
The workshop begins today! This afternoon, we'll hear about the current observational measurements of the Hubble constant. 68? 73? Somewhere in between?
Let's discuss via #HubbleHeadache

Pre-recorded talks are now LIVE! We still have spaces available for viewing of pre-recorded talks and participation in the live workshop -- sign up here #H0Soton#HubbleHeadache https://t.co/ZLxPscJRoL
It’s now less than a week until the @stag_centre workshop “A (Hubble) Tension Headache” talks will be available online! Are you as excited as we are at the prospect of solving the H0 tension? Check out the website here:

Couple great SNIa papers on arxiv tonight: First, sweeping opus by (soon-to-be-Dr.) Maria Vincenzi (https://t.co/gfAoXdMmUL) on pulling together decades of work by community on types/classification/rates/host-galaxies of different supernovae. Used now by @theDESurvey and..
