We’re friends because of tech recruiting.
Traveling to conferences, crashing out after superdays, and celebrating offers—long before we were co-founders, we survived recruiting together.
But quickly after, we realized how little the interview process had actually prepared us for the job.
The engineers around us who stood out weren’t the ones who had spent months optimizing for interviews. They were the builders who could collaborate, communicate, and adapt in the face of uncertainty.
The hiring process didn’t measure any of that.
We built @UseLitmus (YC S26) to let the work speak for itself, so you can hire the ones who last. It’s live today at https://t.co/y7o7m3mM65!

while I have yall here - we’re hiring engs to work alongside us during the batch! take the first round on Litmus to get added to our pipeline: https://t.co/3Z906mXRzV
if you’re currently hiring, take the assessment to see what good interviewing looks like.
We applied to @ycombinator 13 hours late from our Columbia dorms after four consecutive all nighters.
A little over a month later, we flew out to sf for our interview with @snowmaker and @gustaf.
Now, we're <1 month away from moving to sf to start the batch in June!
S26 applications are due tonight. Apply! Late if you have to. It's not always the worst thing.

(Attached is our actual submission vid, filmed at 5am and fuelled by a lot of dining hall coffee)
your next great hire is probably already sitting in ashby.
the problem is finding them without weeks of interviews just to separate signal from noise.
that’s what we built @UseLitmus for.

Founders/Devs—What sucks the most about eng hiring?
1. Too much noise. Who’s acc worth interviewing?
2. Context switching across tools
3. Low signal technical interviews
4. Hours reviewing + debriefing
vote & comment if I missed any :)
We're joining @ycombinator this summer!
We built @UseLitmus because technical hiring is broken—slow, expensive, & low-signal.
Building a company is a privilege. Doing it with @elenaxzhao makes it really fun :)
Thanks @snowmaker@gustaf for betting on us early. See you in SF!
