I just watched $ZEC do a 180% pump right in front of me lol.

And the worst part? I saw it early weeks ago but ignored it because I thought “meh, Zcash is one of those 2017 relic.”

Big mistake.

Turns out that run wasn’t random, it basically brought the whole privacy narrative back to life.

So instead of crying over it, I did some digging… and here’s why it pumped (and why it actually matters for what comes next):

> @Zcash isn’t new, it’s one of the OG zk projects.
Built years ago by Zooko + Eli Ben-Sasson (yes, the same guy who later helped build @Starknet).

> Its whole thing was privacy.
They were the first big chain to use zero-knowledge tech to hide transactions. Basically: you can prove something is valid without showing the details.

> Now fast-forward → people are paranoid about CBDCs, KYC, government tracking wallets… so privacy coins start pumping again.

> But here’s the cool connection:
That same Eli dude who helped build Zcash later left and co-founded StarkWare → the team behind StarkNet.

So it’s like:

Zcash is basically privacy + zk
and StarkNet is scaling + zk

Different goals but having same roots.

> If Zcash was zk wave 1 (privacy coins)…
StarkNet might be zk wave 2 (scaling + real apps).

> So when you see Zcash pump, don’t just say “damn I missed it.”
See it as a signal... zero-knowledge narratives are heating up again.

> The question now is… which zk project runs next?

It’s funny people forget that hyperliquid:native is easily the best product even this year, with:
