@interestingURLs@s1lv3rx_ Uh how? Where does capital punishment figure in: “We have all sinned and all deserve to be condemned and separated from God but God became Man and died to take away our sins and then rose again to be Lord of the world?”
@DemosKratosCA Whatever happened to that crazy lady with the RVs? Romana? Roxana? Lwaxana? The lady Trump made the new Queen of Canada? Are you gonna have to fight her in single combat and if so can I watch?
@9Kings1910Alt@Prolife_Sam Those were both attempts to “make the world a better place.” That is why they resulted in atrocity and horror and failed.
Twitter is an attempt to make the world a worse place and is succeeding.
@davidtaylor0390@Bradcruisedo8 If you are Roman Catholic, he *is* the Vicar of Christ and the supreme legislator of the Church and has the binding and loosening authority of the Apostles. If you’re not Roman Catholic, he’s just some dude.
But it’s not normal at all. I don’t understand being outraged about Palestine unless you’re 1) Palestinian or Arab or Israeli or Jewish and 2) there’s something you can actually do about the situation (and no, protests and riots don’t count).
I googled that person against the my better judgment and yeah, what he did is bad. He’s deprived of liberty and can’t do anything bad to anyone else, so AFAIK the matter is finished. He didn’t affect my life before I knew about him and he won’t affect me now.
I like arguing ideas, though, because everyone can share and shape ideas and if I think someone is mistaken or wrong I can explain why and maybe convince them or someone else. Or not.
@9Kings1910Alt@Prolife_Sam You don’t seem particularly happy. You seem full of rage about things that are utterly outside your control or responsibility. I will indeed enjoy my bubble.
Well that was an utter failure. I had forgotten that this site is just an irredeemable cesspool of toxicity full of people ironically and unironically expressing the most ghastly of opinions. When AI takes over, the existence of this site alone will justify human extinction.
@zacodemus@chrisdcath@NickMaz05 Because doctrine along with the material conditions of society both evolve. We do not need to kill people any more so it is now inadmissible
@chrisdcath@NickMaz05 If something is mandatory and a positive good, a Pope cannot then say it’s wrong; you are correct. If something is optional and permissible, then yes, a Pope can say it is now impermissible.
How many people have you personally executed that this is so dear to your heart?
@chrisdcath@NickMaz05 And Francis and Leo have not contradicted the idea that capital punishment was licit in the past. They are saying it is inadmissible NOW. Like how one used to be able to smoke everywhere and now you generally can’t.
