Today our volunteers met with Hon'ble .@RepJayapal at her #JavaWithJayapal event to discuss time-sensitive immigration issues plaguing the skilled legal immigrant community.
We urged her leadership to resolve #H4EADdelays, #StopGCWastage and push #HR3648 to the finish line.
NEW: I led my House colleagues in urging Congressional leadership to include a permanent path to residency for Documented Dreamers in any upcoming budget reconciliation bill. Documented Dreamers grow up in this country, go to school here, & contribute significantly to our nation.
Canada wants immigrants but the pandemic is in the way. So it's not looking to keep people already there. Meanwhile, US is set to waste 100k GCs for skilled immigrants already living and working in US. https://t.co/oNMkdWfEZe
USCIS charges $410 for an I-765 and they reported in the fee rule that it takes 12 minutes to adjudicate the form. Yet they often take more than 8 months to adjudicate. This is gross mismanagement.
Did you know that it takes @USCIS 12 minutes to adjudicate an Employment Card Application (I-765). And, that @USICS charges $410 for this "work." And, that the average processing time is 8-9.5 months?
Can anything other than intentional mismanagement explain this?
