One more working day for Bankers

UFBU says strike in January for #5daysbanking. We’ve heard this before.
One-day strikes. Symbolic protests. And then silence.

If they are serious, only indefinite strike will work. Nothing else forces the government to listen.

Bankers are exhausted.
Families are ignored.
Promises are recycled every year.

#5daybanking won’t come through statements. It will come only through pressure.

January will decide weather we will get or again wait for one more year

दिल्ली की बीजेपी सरकार भी बिल्कुल यही कर रही है!

दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता और एलजी विनय सक्सेना ने बच्चों के लिए आपदा प्रबंधन की ट्रेनिंग का उद्घाटन किया!

उद्घाटन दिल्ली सरकार के किसी स्कूल में नहीं बल्कि एक प्रमुख प्राइवेट स्कूल में हुआ!!

पहले चरण में दो हज़ार से ज़्यादा सरकारी और प्राइवेट स्कूलों में बच्चों को आपदा से बचाव की ट्रेनिंग दी जाएगी।

पर इस ट्रेनिंग का आग़ाज़ करने दिल्ली सरकार के मुखिया लोग, किसी सरकारी स्कूल नहीं बल्कि प्राइवेट स्कूल पहुंचे!!

ऐसा क्यों?

क्योंकि दिल्ली में बीजेपी सरकार की मुख्यमंत्री और एलजी एक प्राइवेट स्कूल के मंच से पेरेंट्स को संदेश देना चाहते थे कि इनके शासन में सरकारी स्कूल नज़रअंदाज़ रहेंगे,

और प्राइवेट स्कूलों के "सिर और बैलेंस शीट" पर सरकार का हाथ रहेगा।

इसीलिए बीजेपी के ये महानुभाव अब किसी भी सरकारी स्कूल की तरफ़ देखेंगे भी नहीं!!

आख़िर बढ़ेगी फ़ीस तभी तो पढ़ेगा इंडिया…

Another banker.
Another suicide.
Another young life extinguished under the crushing weight of targets and toxic work-culture.

This time it’s #IshwarChandra_Jha, Senior Loan Manager, Bank of Baroda, found hanging inside his room in Ranchi, a new father, a hardworking officer, and yet another victim of an industry that pretends “stress is normal.”

And I’ll be honest, brutally honest: Whenever a suicide news flashes, the FIRST thought in every banker’s mind is:

“Is this person from @bankofbaroda?”

That is how horrifyingly common this has become.
That is how deeply the culture of pressure is embedded.
That is how predictable the pattern now feels.

The police say “he was tense.”
The union says “we wrote a letter.”
The family asks “why?”
And the organisation moves on until the next obituary.

How many more?
How many funerals?
How many headlines?

This is not “performance culture.”
This is systemic suffocation, a slow grinding machine that chews people until they break.

And the unions?
A whisper.
A memo.
A symbolic letter.
Nothing that shakes the ground.
Nothing that saves a life.

Bankers have waited long enough. #5daysbanking is not a luxury; it’s a basic, overdue reform.

This time, #UFBU has finally shown seriousness and spine. Let’s stand firmly with them. I genuinely hope they do NOT call off the strike because backing down now would only reward the constant neglect of bankers’ welfare.

If one day of strike doesn’t move the system, then yes, it’s time to escalate step-by-step: three days, seven days, and as long as it takes until #5daybanking becomes a reality.

Bankers deserve dignity.
Bankers deserve rest.
Bankers deserve #5daysbanking NOW.
