“Driving through Hampden’s 34th street during the winter holiday season has long been a tradition for Baltimore families. But another neighborhood’s elaborately decorated Halloween homes have become a sight to anticipate for the fall season.”

Great, important work on #Composting & #ZeroWaste is happening all across #Baltimore City, & all across the state - what can you make happen in your community?

Thank you @BaltimoreGlass & @VioletvilleInc!

[Baltimore Broken Glass bbglass.org @BaltimoreGlass]

Today we presented our friends @VioletvilleInc w/a special piece of @BaltimoreGlass art for incredible work in setting up a community compost drop off site to stop food from being burned at the incinerator or buried at the landfill. Support communities in #zerowaste @MayorBMScott

[South Baltimore Community Land Trust @BaltimoreSouth]

The @BaltimoreGlass business grew out of community owned land in @CommunityCurtis ! The @VioletvilleInc composting station came out of sharing ideas across communities facing environmental injustice. Creativity, beauty & power comes from community owned development.

[South Baltimore Community Land Trust @BaltimoreSouth]

@VioletvilleInc @BaltimoreGlass @weavetheppl @_compostcrew @BaltimoreDPW @MayorBMScott @PhyliciaPorter_ @CommunityCurtis Communities are building systems that can do what our broken waste system cannot...compost food scraps instead of burning/burying them...recycle & re-use glass - again, instead of burning/burying. A pattern is emerging that suggests where funding needs to be directed.
