it hasn't been emphasized enough that niantic's lightship uses proprietary tech for meshing and occlusion – and is not wholly dependent ios (lidar) or android (depth api) specific solutions.

∴ apps built with lightship will run on a wider range of devices.

If I am using Google lens to identify a giant spider that is on my dining table, I’d say the contextually relevant info to aim for on response is an answer to “will this fucking kill me” not your best guess for species classification
