@ActusDei So many MFDs are highly qualified, but they can't give advice. Allow MFDs to provide advice as well, and let clients decide whether they want to pay fees or let the MFD earn from the product. MFD should give the RIA exam and prove his credentials.
@ActusDei The simplest way to solve the crisis is to allow MFDs to become RIA also and they can decide client specific whether to give advisory or distribution ...
A Meeting That Humbles You
I was invited in Chandigarh to talk about economy and markets.
I had the honour of meeting a true hero of our armed forces — Brigadier HS Kaura Sena Medal , a veteran of IPKF of 1987 , whose story left me speechless and humbled.
He was hit by three bullets in action:
•One grazed his ear,
•Another shattered eight of his teeth,
•The third struck his jaw.
Despite this, his co-pilot Major Daman , whose right hand was blown open, managed to fly the helicopter back to the army base — a full 17 minutes — with Brigadier Kaura’s teeth lying on his feet.
Major Dr. Ashok Tyagi, without delay or equipment, used a blade to cut open the Brigadier’s throat, creating an airway and saving his life.
The most astonishing part?
Brigadier Kaura narrated this entire incident with calmness — as if it were a casual event. He gave full credit to his co-pilot Major Daman and the Major Dr. Ashok Tyagi. Not once did he glorify his own pain or bravery.
What courage. What humility. What unmatched valour.
In front of such stories, we are reminded how small we are — and how much we owe to the armed forces who protect this nation with every ounce of strength and spirit.
The least we can do is strive to be citizens worthy of their sacrifice.

Why Mutual Funds Sahi Hai!
I analysed over 1,400 stocks and more than 450 equity mutual fund schemes, comparing their fall from peak prices to April 04, 2025.
Here’s what I found:
% of % of
Drop from peak Stocks Equity MFs
-40% or more 35% 0.22%
-30% or more 59% 6%
-20% or more 77% 44%
Mutual Funds don’t just help create wealth in the long run—they also fall far less than individual stocks in volatile markets.
Choice is yours.

Retail has to take a tough exam on derivatives before being allowed to trade... or best is to increase the contract size so as to not allow the retail to trade in F&O. It is destroying savings and families. The regulator has allowed this to go on for far too long.
#NDTVProfitExclusive | #SEBI committee may consider asking retail F&O investors to prove their suitability.

The Story of MFDs (1/52)
In 2000, while working with HDFC MF, I met Sanjay Bhai in Ahmedabad. He was assisting corporate clients back then, but soon, he became an MFD himself. Over time, he built an (1/3) @amfiindia@NileshShah68@iRadhikaGupta@hdfcmf@livemint@ActusDei
MFDs: The Most Cost-Effective Financial Intermediaries in India
The role of Mutual Fund Distributors (MFDs) in India’s financial ecosystem has been undervalued and often misunderstood. While other financial intermediaries earn significantly higher commissions, (1/14)
🚨Large foreign investor selling continues in this market 🚨
➡️FIIs sold 6286cr in the cash markets today
➡️FIIs have now sold 43200cr in February so far
➡️Nifty has now hit an 8 month low
➡️US growth slowdown and uncertainty over tariffs from Trump causes incremental selling by FIIs
When the regulator says it is one thing but when a professional says it can have multiple meanings. Best is to walk the talk. Close down the SMID schemes and return the money to investors. Comeback when comfortable on valuations.
Just sell everything so they can buy?
Utmost care should be taken before making such an irresponsible statement.
One simple question: Have they stopped accepting money in their small- and mid-cap mutual fund schemes?"
Reducing the federal deficit from $2T to $1T in FY2026 requires cutting an average of ~$4B/day in projected 2026 spending from now to Sept 30.
That would still result in a ~$1T deficit, but economic growth should be able to match that number, which would mean no inflation in 2026.
Super big deal.
Costs need to come down and TERs need to increase ... 20 bps on each side will make a huge difference ...
Allow alpha generating MFs to charge investors a % of gains generated.
