It's a dark time, but a better democracy is possible.
This will be my final state assembly map that I will make, and the final time I will change my delegation map as a concept of how an open list PR system can be used to elect the state assembly. I apologize for changing the map on you all the time.
Under this concept, 335/395 members are elected from 60 multi-member districts with each electing between 2-9 members. While 60/395 members are elected from a single statewide constituency as leveling seats. To win a leveling seats, a party would need to get 1.74% of the statewide vote.
The great thing about STV is that you get multi-member ridings, so voters can reach out to one of their other local MPs if one of them isn’t focused enough on their community
We need the Single Transferable Vote in Canada
We are over $36 trillion in debt.
We have a $2 trillion deficit.
We are not at war with anyone.
Why would we spend a record breaking $1 trillion on the military budget?
The ultimate problem with rent control, even well designed rent control, is that they're a poor substitute for a land value tax, as rent control only addresses rental units. LVT limits privately captured rents for rental units, single family residences, and commercial property.

Our democracy distorting first-past-the-post system fuels the polarisation driving separatist movements.
@MarkJCarney, you can end this and bring in proportional representation—uniting Canadians with a truly representative democracy.
What are we waiting for?

@MakeVotesMatter Voting should be positive. We should vote for the things we support. Not feel pressured to vote against the things we fear. Under FPTP it’s hardly surprising that politicians don’t know what we want.
And yet no states with strong Democratic Party membership have adopted proportional representation and increased ballot access for alternatives to the Democratic Party and GQP
Countries with proportional representation consistently rank higher in voter satisfaction and democratic quality.
Let’s bring that fairness to Canada.
