@zedshaw Odd question, are you sure it's T3 and not plain USB C? For example the surface books are only USB-C so you can't actually power a 4k @ 60hz monitor from the port.
@zedshaw I mean, it's not as bad as Apple not testing that their CPUs don't thermal throttle their CPUs at room temperature to run at more than 800mhz. Apparently all of these companies are missing some important QA steps. Also T3 docks are _so expensive_ w/ passthrough power.
@cnagele Have you looked at the Bose QC35s? Wireless, bluetooth, noise-cancelling headphones w/ a noise cancelling mic (you can literally have a call outside on a windy day) with 17 hours of battery life. Had mine for 2+ years and don't regret the purchase.
@patio11 Yea, I've seen a email sending service (which I actually love) have billboards plastered on subway stations. I wish I knew the why behind that as there are much better ways to spend $$ to target developers.
@thomasfuchs Have you seen the Surface Books? I've been thoroughly impressed. Tons of connectivity, battery life, and a real desktop graphics card. The only downside I've seen is that its single USB-C port isn't thunderbolt. Also Windows Subsystem for Linux makes it viable for developers.
@dhh It was actually apple's app store model that ruined eBook pricing for everyone. Now all platforms take a 30% cut of the book (instead of cost plus pricing) and publishers/authors make even less. That's why eBooks are so much more expensive these days. Frustrating!
@patio11 After a couple of years for an SE salary (income taxes + sales tax for things they'd undoubtedly buy) along with the actual economic stimulus of adding more money to the local economy.
@patio11 This is a very interesting concept that I like. It's much better than the "trickle down" policy that giving money/breaks to amazon will benefit locals (esp with increased usage of physical automation). States would easily see an ROI on a $10k investment....
@sarah_edo Until you realize that older versions of IE don't have meaningful developer tools :) I'm pretty sure every dentist uses that on Windows XP though.
