@TopShelf_Crypto@FAFO_TV@grok Not a doctor, but the largest blood vessels in the body after the aorta run though the pelvis and thighs. Shooting the thigh or pelvis isn't the disabling non-lethal shot you are envisioning.
@R2rule1@karpovlabs No reason a mechanical hold down couldn't be used after capture, but initially catching the drone at the instant of impact is where the electromagnets shine. Lots of people are trying dynamic mechanical catch with poor results.
@DemiClawOne @EcdoPrep The US Navy has accurate ocean temperatures down to the seabed across several underwater surveillance hydrophone networks, because accurate passive sonar requires knowing the water temperature between the source and receivers. It's not public.
@ZacksJerryRig This has to be an impersonation account. I don't believe it's possible to run a manufacturing company and not understand how radiative heat transfer works.
@CapacitAnas@jimbelosic Depending on how the cooling loops operate, it might be much less than 10000$... Water source heat pump water heaters are commercially available and in the same price range as traditional water heaters...
@heydave7 A 20kw continuous duty generator isn't an inexpensive engine... You are basically looking at a pretty high performance 125CC motorcycle engine with an electric motor and inverter added. The real complexity comes when you try to make these small engines meet emissions standards.
@Chris_OH58D@akafaceUS You would think this, but people drive in white out snow/fog conditions all the time, and the average driver is looking at their phone half the time.
@faraz_r_khan 3 pieces, a 5-sided block and two side flanges. Bolt the side flanges to the sides of your fixturing extrusion and then clamp the rectangular block between the side flanges. All three pieces are waterjet, and then a single drilling operation is done on the block.
@CalebChamberla6 This is awesome. I remember picking up an order from you when it was just a few guys and what looked like one machine in an industrial park garage🤣
@derrickwolbert@CalebChamberla6 If there were co-located cut/stamp/bend/weld facilities to process the steel into components/products, there would be a guaranteed market for the steel. The mill could charge a 15% markup, take 5 and give the investors 10. Total would be half of the service center margin.
@derrickwolbert@CalebChamberla6 The same function could be achieved with an investment vehicle that pays a great interest rate while cutting the total cost in half. Investors buy the steel coming out of the mill, the mill holds the steel on-site, and then the margin is shared when it is resold.
@CalebChamberla6@adamdotnew Update: It errored out with a partially complete sheet metal part, having written a 6000 word essay on how not to use the Onshape sheet metal tools.
@CalebChamberla6@adamdotnew I woke up to this and decided to test. I had a simple bracket to make... Writing up the requirements took longer than doing it myself, and now I've been watching the agent diligently use the sheet metal tools incorrectly for 30 minutes. Today it's a intern. Still impressive.
@bryan_johnson Have you considered using conductive heat transfer to accelerate the internal heating process? Something like what the NFL uses for core cooling, but in reverse? It also feels like measuring gut fluid temperature isn't ideal, it will be cooler than the organs around it. Hot tea?
@ChrisDe57847559@YunLinSJ@HansMahncke If the goal was clean public transportation, 126B could buy 252,000 50' electric passenger buses. Enough to fill the HSR right of way end-to-end 5 lanes wide. 400x more passengers served, even if the buses only carried one passenger load per day.
@IsaacKing314 Getting to LEO is just the start of the journey. Starship might be two stages, but if a starship bound for Mars is refueled by three tankers, is it now a five stage vehicle? Reusability and orbital refueling changes staging efficiency considerations.
