There are some great streets to walk through in @IslingtonBC , and they are about to become even better thanks to @RichardWatts01@RowChampion programme of PeopleFriendlyStreets
Today is the beta launch of Central London Footways, a network of quiet and interesting streets to get Londoners walking more and further on everyday journeys. https://t.co/sS45yBJmH7
Do take time to have a look at the amazing plans from
@CamdenCouncil and @AdamDKHarrison for the re-invention of the Holborn area as a place for people. So good!

@BBCOxford Fortunately *people* CAN reach the railway station without passing a congestion charge point. Methods include:
* Bus
* Walking
* Cycling
* Taxi
* Park and Ride
* In a car, get someone to drop you off in Botley Road and walk or wheel through walkway.
Good to see proposals coming forward at roughly the same time Oxford Street and a much more pedestrian friendly Regent St area. Really need to link these up to other schemes for a car-lite West End.

Why isn’t this bit of Camden passage pedestrianised? This is the gateway that draws people down from Angel. Also home to two very popular cafes who I’m sure would love to expand their outdoor seating.
Tucked away in Clerkenwell’s historic streets Finsbury Library another place you can pick up a free #Clerkenwell Footways map. 🗺️

Mildmay is set to become Islington’s first Liveable Neighbourhood with safer streets, more greenery, and reduced traffic. After years of planning and resident input, these improvements will create a cleaner, more vibrant community. Worth the wait!

@camdencyclists Good to see the closure of St Giles passage to motor venicles. Not quite sure where the crossing to Mercer St will be. It would be great to have a walking route from St Giles churchyard to Seven Dials
@LouHaigh If only road crashes were dealt with in the same way as train crashes. Imagine if someone was killed or seriously injured every 17 minutes on a train. It wouldn’t be allowed to continue. But perfectly acceptable on our roads.
